Owners response: Paradise Point is an excellent location and the dock house/bar is where you will spend the most of your time with the inclusive ammenities there. Beach area with zero entry for children. Deep water at end of the dock. Fishing is abundant, kayak, volleyball nets, horseshoes, large field space for family activities, fire circle and much more. Enjoy the private side at this prestigious spot on the lake. Community marina to launch your toys!

Lots of potential

The outside area is wonderful but was overshadowed by the poor condition inside the home. Upon arrival the home was not very clean and the AC was out of order. I called the owner and never heard back from them. Out of the blue THREE days later someone showed up to repair it. Inside- spider webs, dust bunnies, stale bread in utensil drawer, soot on the fireplace ledge, and every bowl or dish I pulled out to make dinner was dirty.

We arrived at the end of rental season so the giant rip in the carpet, window treatments, and numerous stains on the rugs and comforters are forgivable. The nasty sweat stained pillows weren't usable, some of the beds didn't have comforters and had random sleeping bags piled on them, and only one bed had a mattress pad. The worst find was not one but TWO pairs of someone else's underwear in various closets.

There were lots of closets locked for the owners and the few closets available for renters were so full of junk they weren't usable. A mildewy towel was left in the washer, the owners mail was piled in the kitchen. It just felt like the owner didn't want to make room for renters. We found a fishing lure in one of the beds and the downstairs bedroom and disheveled loft were completely unappealing.

The outside area is great and the kids did catch fish. We loved the shade so our baby could play in her exersaucer while the older kids swam right off the shore. The TV and fridge outside and the sound system are wonderful touches. The boards on the dock and the wrap around deck need attention as some are warped and loose. We appreciated that the owners left a kayak out for our use. If our youngest had been crawling I would not have felt comfortable staying at the house because there were too many hidden choking hazards and too much dirt.

The owner told us one bed was a queen but really was a king so our sheets didn't fit. The ladder for the bunk in the room with the queen size bed in the closet was also broken and couldn't be used with our young children.

Bottom line: We won't be renting this property again but if the owners put some thoughtful attention into making this usable for renters and do some serious cleaning it could be a wonderful getaway. I also encourage the owners to communicate with renters when they do encounter a problem. I called all 3 emergency numbers provided to me and couldn't even get through on one of the lines.

Awesome Vacation

We have rented this house one week every summer for at least the last 3 years. We rent this home together with a couple of friends and our kids! There is space for everyone to spread out and something for everyone to do!! A couple years ago the owners added more coveredspace to the dock, including a bar with a sink and refridgerator, which makes it convenient to hang out at the dock all day long and have shade, and a full stocked fridge. We bring our own jetskis and there is plenty of room to tie them to the dock. The beach area has sand for the little ones to play in and the beach walks right into the lake, so there is shallow area for the kids to play! Because this is on the private side of Lake Anna, the water is stays nice and warm and there is not a lot of boat/jetski traffic, again great for families. This house is also situated on a point, so the view is magnificent and not blocked by anything. The beach for this property is in a little cove, so again, great safe area for the kids to swim and play safely. The kids also love to catch and release fish off the dock, as the owners have made sure to attract fish with feeders! If you are looking for a great, quiet, family friendly vacation place then this is a wonderful place to stay. Note: If you are new to Lake Ann, this house is on the private side of the lake, you cannot take jetskis and boats through the water to the public side, and there are in lake gas areas on the Private side, so you must remove vehicles to refuel or transport to the public side, however we have never found that an issue. If you want to be in the action of the public side of the lake then the Private Side is not for you, if you want a more peaceful vacation, then this is the place to be!! We are planning on renting again this year!
