vacation rental description
Donameer Farm and horse camp is nestled in a quiet valley on top of Mount Washington, in the heart of the Finger Lakes of New York. Our scenic 90 acres includes fields for pastures, woods with trails, hills to climb with panoramic vistas.
The guest cottage at Donameer Farm is a quaint country cottage set amidst this 90 acre horse farm and campground. The cottage is a one room efficiency with kitchenette and private bath. It is furnished with a queen size bed crafted from old ancestral barn beams, a dresser, comfortable couch and a 4 chair and dining table set. All linens are provided.
The view of the meadow from the picture window includes deer, fox, wild turkey and soaring hawks.
Relax on the front porch glider with your morning coffee or a glass of local wine and watch the birds at the feeders, or the hummingbirds defend their nectar. An umbrella table on the stone patio with charcoal grill allows for outdoor dining. Fire pit with wood is great for an evening under the stars.
The hiking/riding trails on the hill behind the cottage include a fishing pond, woods and open fields. Walking sticks are provided for your hiking pleasure and safety. A walk through the woods and trails before sunset will soothe your soul. Explore our small creek for fossil rocks from the time our region was under water.
Relax with satellite TV or a video from a video library containing old and modern westerns, horse stories and more. Regional tourist info, restaurant menus, maps are also supplied.
cabin rental amenities
In addition to the guest cottage there are 4- 30amp/water RV hookups set alongside a peaceful small creek. So bring your camping friends! A separate bathroom is provided for campers. A 10-stall barn with spacious 12x12 stalls and grass paddocks are available to the traveling and camping equine/rider or group of friends. Non-horse guests are very welcome. Great for the RVer who is tired of the KOA crowd and activity. This is a quiet country setting for those who want to get away from it all! well-behaved dogs are welcome. They too enjoy the space and freedom afforded by the country setting. Our dogs Koko and Sophie just love visitors, two-legged or four!
THe 1840's farmhouse on the property serves as a gathering place for our firends and guests. Fireside get togethers are a favorite of ours.
