vacation rental description

This unique year around vacation home lies in a rural neighborhood on one-half acre yet still close to the village and beaches.  You can walk to Swan Pond or bring your Kayak.  Swan Pond flows down Swan River to Nantucket Sound.  Check out the map.

A classic ''Cape Cod'' home, we have decorated in a unique ''seacoast'' motif to make our house a special one. We also keep it very neat, clean and ''ship-shape.''
We have 2 large bedrooms with lots of closet space. With two full baths we can accommadate a large family.

The bright sunny dining room seats 6 people very comfortably for meals or games.

The kitchen has been updated with lots of new cupboards & counter space; a new double sink to fill your Lobster Pot .  Lots of fun Cape Cod dishes, plenty of pots & pans, silverware/utensils & large pots for steaming your fresh lobster or
clams. The kitchen is open to the sunny dining room, papered in sky and ocean scenes and 4 large windows with hanging colored glass fishing balls that send rainbows of color into the room.

Our dining room also features a desk for maps, brochures, menus, and a filled notebook describing the area and all its ammenities. A unique useful guide. We even sport a ships' brass dinnerbell!

Our blue & white papered living room has a comfortable couch, and 2 recliners for relaxing or watching movies or the flickering flames in the fireplace. Wait 'till you see our authentic lobster trap coffee table!

The mirror over the fireplace, reflects lots of light from the two front windows and built in bookcases span either side of the fireplace stocked with lots of books, videso & games.
We have a card table to can set up for games, a hand of bridge or enjoy one of our many puzzles on a rainy afternoon.

Our largest bedroom with soft lavender and rose paper/paint, has 2 gueen beds, 2 dressers, 2 night stands and 3 shelved closets. A pink tiled, swan motif bath is right outside this room, & has a tub/shower. We provide a hairdryer, first aid kit and beach towels. Sorry sheets & bath towels are not included this year. However if traveling far can provide them for a minimal fee.

On the other side of the house is the second queen bedroom, decorated in pastel greens & white, with a full bath in seashell wallpaper. We recently installed a large oversized Shower . This bed & bath has 1 dresser, mirror, closet with shelves
and 5 windows as well as it's own entrance from outside!

The washer and dryer are in the basement along with some extra supplies (chairs and outdoor equipment).

There is a large patio just outside the kitchen with 2 large wooden tables, one with an umbrella and outdoor chairs. We have a gas barbecue grill to grill your fresh catch of the day!
In our spacious 1/2 acre yard, the driveway winds up around the backyard, curving around an 'ancient' oak tree & circles back to the front. A great place to park your small craft. We even have a half moon drive in the front of the house, so lots of parking for company!

Bordering the patio are flowering shrubs of lilac, azalea, wisteria, spirea, and hydrangeas. We try to maintain several perennial & annual flower gardens you are welcome to water or weed anytime! The yard has a variety of trees and flowering bushes; pine, blue spruce, maple, oak,  forsythia, tulip tree, firebushes, a Harry Lauder Walking Stick, white & pink rhododendron and several flowering bushes. We have a stationary two seater swing and a convenient clothes line to dry off beach towels after a day at the shore.

We are always updating the house and yard to make your vacation the best ever, so you want to come again year after year. I leave a welcome guest book for you to comment on ways to improve our property or just to share your thoughts about a great resturant or adventure you've had while there.

We are located only 1 mile from the famous ''Cape Cod Bike Trail'' so don't forget to bring your bike!

We are within walking distance (about .5 mile) from the quaint center of Dennisport with many antique shops and speciality stores, as well as a Job Lot, a health food store, pizza parlor, Mexican & breakfast restaurants, and Rite Aid.

We are less than 1.3 miles to the closest beach, but there are 14 beaches in Dennis/Dennisport you can visit under 1 parking sticker pass.

You can also walk/short drive to Swan Pond and enjoy kayaking, canoeing, or just watching the may birds that frequent this waterarea. We are also a short drive to the many golf courses, miniture golf, fishing & whale watching piers, museums, cranberry bogs, and the famous Dennis Theater - the oldest theater in the northeast.

We are about 15 minutes from Hyannis and 30 minutes to Provincetown using the Rt.6 bypass. Or meander to other towns and villages along Rt 28 or 6A and delight in the uniqueness of the Cape.
We leave a large notebook at the house with maps, menus & lots of information about the area, along with a list of emergency/useful numbers.

We provide 'in yard' trash pick for your convenience, so you won't need to remember to bring the barrels out to the road, just the trash out to the barrels.

We feel you will certainly enjoy our house & we are only a phone call away if you have any questions or concerns.

Come for your perfect ''Cape Cod'' experience!

Dennisport Cottage

Pat (Mount Arlington, NJ, USA)
Review submitted: August 11, 2012   Date of arrival: July 28, 2012

My family (myself, two adult children and a small dog)enjoyed a one week stay here and found the accommadations to accurately reflect the description. Especially helpful that there were two bathrooms and pet friendly. Great location not far from the bike trail and access to beaches on both the sound and the bay. We had a good dining experience at the Wooden Shoe restaurant nearby, but if you want really good chowder try the Larry's PX in Chatham- not fancy, more a local spot similar to a Jersey Diner experience, but great food.
Susan provided excellent customer service and we'd definitely recommend to friends.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, pet-friendly

Owners response: Pat & family, Thank you for your thoughtfulness and kind words. So glad you enjoyed your stay and it was a pleasure to accommodate you. Sincerely, Susan

Cape Cod Vacations

jeds (Webster, New York, USA)
Review submitted: January 30, 2012   Date of arrival: August 27, 2011

Our first stay was for two weeks in August, 2010. We enjoyed our stay so much that we returned at the end of August, 2011 for another two weeks, and now we have signed up for another two weeks in July 2012. The home is centrally located making it easily accessable to all of the activities available on the Cape. The cottage is clean, comfortable and fully equipted for relaxed and fun times. The owner (Susan) is very accomadating.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: Thank you so much for your kind words. It's always a delight to please my guests and have them return year after year. Susan
