Simply Beautiful

The setting is breathtakingly beautiful. While we came for the fall color (and were not disappointed) I can see this as being scenic and restful no matter what season you come for. It was decorated for fall and fully appointed and clean. The kitchen, while not gourmet, was nicely stocked with the basics needed for a large family dinner. The beds were comfy and I still regret not having the opportunity to soak in the big clawfoot bathtub. I did however get to use the hot tub a few times and it was quite nice. While it is on a fairly busy road it is not exceedingly quiet, but the fact it is easy to get to and about 5 minutes out of Nashville makes up for it. The unavailabilty of both wi-fi and cellphone service will force you to not work while there. For a reminder there is an outside world still there is satellite tv.

The only issue we had was the fireplace. I am quite adept at starting fires just about anywhere, so imagine my surprise when I found the first fire-proof fireplace I had ever seen. The flue was open and drawing, the logs stacked to the back as instructed, yet it took hours to get anything burning at all, much less merrily. I still have no explanation for it.

We used Trinity Hill for a girls' weekend, but it would be just as appropriate as a romantic couples' retreat, a family vacation, or even a group occasion with the large yard and shelter/bbq area.

Recommended for: age 55+, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway
