Atlantique Cottage Beach House in Fire Island

Due to Hurricane Sandy our House will not be for Rent the Summer of 2013.  Our cozy cottage is two houses from the beautiful Atlantique Beach and three houses from the Great South Bay on the narrowest part of Fire Island. This fifty house community is surrounded on either side by undeveloped federal property, making it one of the most tranquil and natural places on the island. There are little to no cars on the island in the summer, just deer, songbirds, and folks in swimsuits.

 Our intimate beach cottage has two airy bedrooms with ceiling fans; one with a Queen sized bed and the other with a day bed (with pop up trundle) that turns into a king.  The house is perfect for singles, two couples, or one family with children.  There are 1 1/2 bathrooms. The kitchen comes equipped with a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, convection stove, toaster, and all dishes and cookware. There are linens for indoor and outdoor use, a washer/dryer, satellite TV, wi-fi, and a stereo system. We have a kayak for paddling about in the Bay, beach chairs, and sun umbrellas.  Our living and dining room areas are comfortable and built for relaxation. There is a private deck with furniture, flowers, herbs and a Weber grill. It's a quiet spot to read on the chaise lounge or have dinner outside.

Attractions such as restaurants and stores are a walk or water taxi ride away in Ocean Beach or Fair Harbor. We are near a boat marina with a snack bar and a nearby playground. During high season there are some wonderful nature excursions available, Atlantiquians also enjoy beach volleyball, petanque, surfing, ocean kayaking, and boogie boarding to name a few of our pursuits. The best pleasures are the simplest, a good book, a swim and an ocean breeze, the sky when you are in the outdoor shower..... The community is friendly and relaxed, often striking up a conversation, or leaving you to nap on the beach....

July and August weekly rates are $2300 per week - Monday noon through Sunday afternoon. The total cost is the weekly rate plus a refundable security deposit of $400 (returnable immediately after house inspection) and a cleaning charge of $100. Therefore, the total payment comes to $2800. Special rates apply to holiday weekends.  We ask that you pay a non-refundable one third of your total cost up front to secure your time. You may then make the second payment in March or April and the third the month of your rental. A discount of $400 will be made for those who desire to rent four straight weeks thus reducing the weekly rate to $2200 per week. We will, of course, work out any other details once we know that you are going to use the cottage.
