Smith Family Cottage in Henderson Harbor

 The cottage is 100 years old but holds its age well.  It is situated in Snowshoe Bay which is a safe harbor in all winds.  You can tie a boat(s) to our long dock and leave it there the entire week(s) of your stay.  Imagine walking down to the dock and getting into your boat with hot coffee in order to be at the best fishing hole before anyone else.  You are close to great bass, salmon, perch, walleye and lake trout fishing.  Lake Ontario is a few feet away.  You get there by going through the "cut", a causeway to the lake right in front of you.  After a day on the boat come back to the cottage and sit on the screened in porch and cook your fish or a steak while the kids fish off the dock right in front of you.  Don't have a boat, use our  paddle boat to get out to some great bass fishing.

The screened in porch is loved by everyone.  You can eat and relax there.  There is a paddle boat for your use.  The stone wall is 80' and has Adirondack chairs as well.  Association Island RV park is a mile away and some people combine vacations with others who have RV's and stay there.  Henderson and Sackets Harbor are quaint small fishing villages with much to offer.  Bill Saiff's West View Lodge is in Henderson Harbor and Sackets boasts excellent restaurants.  Captain Barry Smith is a cottage owner and has a charter boat out of Henderson Harbor.  He has a cottage at Stony Island and would gladly take you fishing and cook you a shore dinner. 

There are beautiful golf courses close by and excellent swimming at two state parks, Southwicks Beach, an all sand beach, and Wetscott's State Park.  Canada is an hour away by car.  Taking the ferry into Kingston from Cape Vincent is an international experience which is very affordable.  The ferry from Wolff Island is free.  Going over the TI Bridge is fun as well.  Excellent fishing is everywhere.Wehle's State Park is 3 miles away and has free day use for hiking swimming, tennis and volleyball.  Follow the lakeside trails for miles. The swimming place has grills for a barbecue and restrooms.

The rates are $1000 for one week.  Check in time is 4pm on Sat. and check out is the following Sat. by 10am.  A $160 security deposit is required.  There is a cleaning fee of $60 included in that but if you leave the cottage the way you found it, immaculate, and nothing is broken, you will be refunded the $160.   To reserve your week send $500 plus the $160 security deposit.  The balance  of $500 is required after your walk through on the day you arrive.
