Cedar Log Home on Pecos River in Santa Fe

Very nice home

My teenage son and I stayed in the home this year and it was great. I loved sitting on the porch, drinking my morning coffee, listening to the Pecos River, and watching the hummingbirds fly around. The nights were so quiet, and we slept so sound! The cabin is in a remote area, which made it so nice to sit and relax. Just what I needed! We had our dog with us too and she loved exploring the property! Santa Fe was approx 40 minutes away, and very easy to get to. Our horse ride at Circle S Stables was great and they took very good care of us. The interstate was 20 minutes away so there was very easy access to day trips. Very nice owner and great to work with! There is no phone or internet service -- which was great for me -- but my teenager was about to go crazy by the end of 7 days, so remember that if planning a trip with children. I would definitely recommend this home, and I hope to return for another visit.

Grat cabin off the beaten path

This cabin is located on a family-owned summer cabin area in the national forest. The ground floor has a sleeper sofa, bathroom, loveseat, and TV, with floorpace for air matresses if needed. The second floor has the kitchen, bath, very large bedroom (more floor space) and LR with TV. The third floor has 2 BR and a bath. One of the BR has a small loft for additonal sleeping space. The ktichen is pretty well equipped. There is no phone or internet, and it is 20 miles before you get a cell signal.If you want to disconnect, this is the place. The river and hiking are nearby. Pecos National Monument and Glorrieta Pass are a short drive. We had children with us ranging from 9-16; they all had a great time. Good area for hiking, fishing,and mountain bikes. Or kick back with a book and your favorite beverage while you listen to the babbling river. Next time I'll take my fold-up lawn chairs as well as some insect repellant; as with any property on a river, there are flies. The owner is friendly and helpful. This is a wonderful place to stay.

Great Vacation Spot

This is the second time my family has rented the log home for the Memorial Weekend and we had a fantastic time. There were 4 families which included 6 grandkids all together in this wonderful modern log home. The kids had sleeping bags all over the game room floor.

My grandson Robbie caught a 23 1/2 inch Rainbow trout from the Pecos River only 100 feet from the log home. Others caught several trout in the 12" to 16" range. Our day trip to Santa Fe was enjoyed by all as well as a 6 mile hike up to Steward Lake.

This is the best vacation we have had and recommend it to everyone.
