It is a big house with three levels, five bedrooms and sleeps 12 people comfortably. Three full baths (one with bath-sized hot tub), two living-rooms, outdoor shower, 3 open decks, one enclosed porch, children’s play room, full modern kitchen, washer, dryer, 3 TVs, DVD and Video, etc. Tastefully decorated.  Ideal for a family with children or for two families to share.

You can see the sun rise from the 2 living-rooms and 2 decks with a 180 degree view over a beautiful 90-acre salt pond, and from two bedrooms through the floor-to-ceiling windows looking eastward over the pond which is often teeming with wild-life including herons, ospreys, crabs, geese, ducks, migratory birds, etc.; pond is ideal for canoes, kayaks, row boats, wind-surfing, and swimming from our private dock. The beautiful ocean beach is in easy bicycling or driving distance but too far to walk for most people. It is about 1 mile as the crow flies but 10 minutes by car to north end of Bethany Beach board-walk.  We have one ocean kayak for two people and another for one person; also a large metal canoe: no extra charge but special conditions apply for people wanting to use the kayaks/canoe.   For a small additional fee, renters can participate in the Salt Pond country club facilities are in easy walking distance (10-15 minutes walking) with swimming pools with life guard, indoor hot tub, tennis courts, volleyball court, half basketball court, exercise room.  Off street parking for 5 vehicles.

No smoking, no pets, no loud partying. No loud music outside. No beach weeks, no teenage groups, no groups of young adults in their 20s unless known to owner.

Rentals are only from mid-June until September.  Only week rentals (Sat-Sat).  See below under vacation rental rates for rates.

There are a new propane Bar-B-Q, 3 TVs, (inc new 37" , older 32" and a smaller TV) DVD player, video player, high speed internet access with wireless modem router, 2 new hammocks, a ping pong table, lots of books and games and even a puppet theater in the special Children’s Room. There is a beautiful garden, professionally designed by Mrs. Posner, Corinna Posner, of European Garden Design.

The indoor hot tub is comfortable for two people in the master bathroom on the third floor with hot jets of water.  Two large hammocks are available for use on the second floor deck.

Professional cleaning at end of rental period included in rental cost.

The beautiful ocean beach at Bethany Beach and town is the top attraction, although the Salt Pond community facilities are in competition for top activities during summer months.  The Salt Pond community offers country club facilities like a big outdoor pool with kiddie pool and life guard (in summer) , an indoor pool and spa (except in summer), tennis courts, volleyball court, a half basketball court, an exercise room, etc.; there are additional charges by SPHA for use of these community recreation facilities.  Golf: the community also hosts a good par 61 public golf course.  The community and setting is perfect for kids and adults on roller-blades, bicycles, scooters, skate-boards, jogging, walking, etc.- i.e. flat, smooth, and low traffic.  Our two ocean kayaks are available as are our crab traps.

A Harris Teeters high-end food store in walking distance inside the Salt Pond Community. 

Magic shows at Dickens Parlor Theater, in Ocean View, have family friendly shows and a restaurant. 

Weekly Rentals only available June 15, 2013 - September 30, 2013.  Sat - Sat rentals only.

For peak season of 2013: June 15 through  week including Labor Day weekend Saturday to Saturday rentals during peak season. $3,500 per week during the peak season; Discounts for returning “loyal renters” and/or for renting consecutive weeks. Professional cleaning after rental is included.  No extra charge for use of kayaks, canoe, crab traps.

Off-peak season rentals:  Month of September 2013 (after labor day weekend):  $2850/week.

A security deposit of $500 is required, which will be returned if all is left in good condition.

Downpayment of 1/2 the rental cost reserves/secures the week for you, the remainder of the payment is due 60 days before occupancy. 

Weekend rentals not considered.
