Kapoho Makai is closer to the ocean than any other home in Hawaii. You can access into water to swim and snorkel right from your backyard. At high tides the ocean surrounds the house, you are like on the deck of a ship. The views are a mile long both up and down the coast. The Wai-O-Pae Tidepool Preserve begins at the house and extends south. The house is private as there are no public access points for a few lots. The only house within 1000 feet is seldom occupied. It feels as though the tidepools are your private preserve. The lanai is the most impressive view and favorite spot and yet there are ocean views from every room, even the shower! The smaller bedroom is oceanfront and the larger has the 1/2 bath. The house is outfitted with high quality furnishings and decor. The tradewinds keep the house cool and no mosquitoes. There is no comparison for the views, privacy, fresh air and intimate setting. Of course Kapoho Makai has all the standard stuff other Kapoho homes have, just the best location of all.
house rental amenities
Kaoho Makai has 2 queen beds, one of which is ocean front. There is a bath tub shower with ocean view from the shower. The larger bedroom has a 1/2 bath in a large former closet. Washer and dryer, iron & board. The kitchen has full ocean views in 2 directions and has dishwasher, electric stove, coffee grinder and maker. There's all the other stuff too, blender, wine, margarita and champagne glasses. The seating is for 4 only as this is an intimate house and not suited for any more than that.
activities and attractions in Kapoho The Big Island
The famous Wai-O-Pae Tidepool Preserve begins at your house. You are literally right on the preserve and yet not where the public enters so it's almost like your own private preserve! The area for fishing is the north side of the house if that's your thing. If snorkling and fishing are too much activity for you, then spend your day on the lanai with a view above all the activity out in the tidepools. Other than that, it's like all the other houses in the Puna district, lava flows, hot ponds, lava trees, surf spots, botanical gardens, farmer's markets, blah, blah blah.........
