Most amazing place in Santa Barbara!

I wanna get away (San Francisco, CA)
Review submitted: March 29, 2010   Date of arrival: September 11, 2009

My in-laws were visiting us in San Francisco and wanted to make a short trip to Santa Barbara. It was one of those “impromptu” getaways and given the number of people in our party, along with the varying age groups, I was faced with finding an amicable vacation place for all.

I found this posting on Craigslist for a Victorian mansion near the Santa Barbara Mission. I placed a phone call and spoke to Cat, who was extremely suspiciously accommodating. I asked all questions that included how to find a beach for my 7-year old, what to show tourists from out of the country, how to keep a teenager engaged and all sorts of dietary and physical restrictions and preferences.

Cat made sure she was our personal GPS keeping track and and that we made it safely to their magical retreat. We were embraced by the tranquil grandeur of the mansion coupled with Cat’s nurturing hospitality and all of us felt instantly at home.  Wine and cheese, tea, diet soda reception ... what more could one ask for after a long drive from SF to SB. What amazed me on our first night is Cat’s ability to know the needs of all her guests. When we were safely and comfortably tucked into bed, we slept like babies in the lush beds and surroundings.

Breakfast at mansion is a divine experience. We were amazed at the certified-chef, freshly made and prepared feast of the finest beverages and foods one could only dream about to start their day. It was very difficult to leave and begin our day of exploration as everyone gathered round the breakfast table and had the greatest time. To top it all off, our chef and Hesu pulled out guitars while we were eating and we had a musical jam as my husband Gabby joined in with song, as well as the kids with dance.

In addition, I will not ever forget the healing energy that Hesu, the resident doctor gave to me. From the chiropractic maneuvers to those magical herbs and the body scan that remains one of life’s mysteries to me, I felt renewed!

I even climbed a tree and made rainbows out of the water from the sprinkler as the sun came up that morning to greet us!

Thank you so much for a magical stay!

Review submitted: March 29, 2010   Date of arrival: June 5, 2009

Dear Cat,
Thank you so much for the kind words. I can't get Santa Barbara, the house and you guys out of my mind! It is strange. All of a sudden I feel a real connection with SB. I'm sure it has to do with having met you. I'm always in awe how God brings people into my life at just the right time. You are so amazing. You are beautiful inside and out, with an exceptional balance of gentle and strong.

We’ve loved some of the new recipes that you cooked for us during our stay,
especially since they were all gluten free to accommodate my eldest daughter’s intolerance. The girls loved being in your home and the nurture and love that you shared with them was so supportive to Brian and me on our trip.

Hope you and the family are well. Have a wonderful week and I'll be in touch.

Amazing Stay with my Daughter!

Review submitted: March 29, 2010   Date of arrival: August 9, 2009

Dear Catherine,
When my daughter and I came to Santa Barbara on holiday to visit family, we had no idea what to expect. My sister was a bit overwhelmed as she had just returned from a long trip and we thought it best to stay in a hotel or inn for the first few days of our visit. Her friend suggested your beautiful vacation rental and I came over thinking that we would stay for a few nights and then settle in with family. What I didn’t realize at the time, is that you were also family and we ended up staying for two weeks!

Your care and hospitality are like none I’d ever experienced and we felt instantly at home when we walked through the door. What you have created is truly magical and I can’t wait to return to my “Santa Barbara home” in a few months!
