vacation rental description
A Beautiful water front Log Home on the boatable Iroquois River. The log Home is 50 minutes south on I-57 of downtown Chicago. The Iroquois river flows into the Kankakee River one mile down river. Which is a minute away down river for my fishing boat and 5 to 25 minutes for my pontoon, depending weather I am idling or full speed ahead...The Log Home is three minutes off I-57 with a Super Wal- Mart (food and liquor also) at the exit. The living room has cathedral type ceiling, a see though natural gas fire place and a 36" inch T.V. with basic cable/DVR player. Open kitchen, with a rap around bar type counter. All three levels have a full bathroom. The Master bed room on main level has a see though gas fireplace. The second floor has two bed rooms with dbl beds and full bath. The basement can double from the "RIVER BOTTOM BAR" to a large bed room with a full wet bar and fridge. It has its own kitchenette (sink, stove, oven and cupboards) and bathroom with shower. Walk out the main door to a screened in porch 10' x 35' with a couch, small bar to make drinks, full size fridge and gas grill. Walk out the porch on to a 20’ x 35’ foot concrete patio. Walk off the patio 45’ feet to the fire pit area in the back yard to party or just watch the stars at night. Walk past the fire pit 120’ feet to the Harbor and river. You have your own 85' x 35' foot cement harbor to keep your boat out of the slow moving currant. The harbor fits five boats comfortably. The bottom of the Harbor is bed rock. The harbor bottom is flat like an in ground pool bottom. If you and/or the kid's are swimming in the harbor, there is a ladder to get in or out of the water. The perfect boating/fishing river house. (See Activities and Attractions).
house rental amenities
A convenient Wal-Mart, Taco Bell/KFC, a 4 star Homestead restaurant and a Gas City all within 5 to 10 minutes away from the Log Home. In town there are many other businesses and bars, (Night Clubs, Sports bars and local watering holes ect.). Kankakee, Bradley and Bourbonnais are all neighboring towns and are no more than 20 minutes away from the Log Home. Being only 3 minutes off I-57 you have quick access to large town businesses. Such as the mall, misc. stores and restaurants like Buffalo Wild Wings ect. Several golf Courses are around the area. There are three marinas on the river. Two of which you can tie your boat up, walk in and sit at the bar or a table to have lunch and/or drinks. Carry out beer and ice.
activities and attractions in Chicago Illinois
The Log Home is located in an unincorporated area which gives you privacy. The neighboring homes are in front of the house so the back yard where the fire pit, boats, harbor and play area are located is very private. So get loud have fun! Stay up late! I am a water person so my favorite thing to do is boating, water skiing, knee boarding, wake boarding, wave running, caneoing, kayaking, fishing and just load up the boat with food and drinks. Then drive the boat down river to the beaches and sandbars to soak up the sun. Pick a private spot or join the big party on the sand bar. There are kids throwing frizbees, footballs and just digging around in the sand. Everyone is social, fun, makes time to enjoy life and if need be, very helpful... Fishermen, pick up a Hot Spots fishing map of the Kankakee River for more depth, direction, tips and fishing details. Plus I could give you local fishing knowledge.
