Wonderful secluded cabin with spectacular views of Long's Peak and the continental divide. Ideal for the outdoor enthusiast.
Our cabin sits on a rock outcropping overlooking the green meadows of an elk preserve and offers 225 degree views of the continental divide, Long’s Peak (altitude 14,259 feet), and Rocky Mountain National Park. You can hike for an hour on our 3 acres of land or backpack for weeks in the 415 square miles of pristine wilderness offered by world famous Rocky Mountain National Park just 7 miles away. The cabin is a light, airy place with all the comforts of home yet the feeling of being a part of nature. Perched high on a mountainside the glass on three sides offers spectacular views from nearly every window. One can easily spend hours just relaxing on the large deck reading, enjoying Colorado’s deep blue skies and bright sunshine, watching deer or elk meandering by, and soaking up the beauty of these magnificent mountains.
house rental amenities
The cabin has two bedrooms and a large loft area equipped with a DVD player for viewing movies and wireless internet access. The living area is open and inviting, and includes a living room with a large stone fireplace and big picture windows, as well as a modern kitchen and dining area. One bedroom has a queen bed, the other a set of twin bunk beds. Upstairs, in the loft, there is a double bed (as well as air mattresses for those adventurous souls who want to drag them outside and sleep on the deck.) At night, the quiet and the cool crisp mountain air are perfect for sleeping -- but only after enjoying a glorious sunset, then gazing for awhile at a night sky filled with a million stars!
activities and attractions in Estes Park Colorado
Estes Park is nestled at the foot of Rocky Mountain National Park, a large and beautiful wilderness area that offers recreational possibilities all year round. In the summer, hiking, horseback riding, rock climbing, river rafting, and similar activities for the outdoor enthusiast abound. A portion of the park is traversed by Trail Ridge Road, the highest paved road in the world, which is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day and offers unbelievable panoramas of the fragile and beautiful tundra. In the winter and spring, the park offers miles of trails for snowshoeing or cross country skiing, while downhill skiing and snowboarding are available at Lake Eldora 48 miles southwest of us. The charming mountain town of Estes Park is just 4 miles from our cabin and offers restaurants, shops, art galleries, and family amusements of all kinds.
