Vacation Rental Description

This classic chalet is in the historic town of Dorrington, a quiet, upscale 
neighborhood that is reticent about being discovered. 

This 2 Bedroom + Loft/ 2 Bath cabin can accommodate up to 12 people:
* Downstairs Bedroom 1 - Queen bed with a pillow-top mattress and a 
  king-sized down comforter.
* Downstairs Bedroom 2 - a pillowtop Queen bed and a king-sized 
  comforter.  
* Loft has a pillowtop full bed and twin bunkbeds, as well as a full-
  sized Macy's down-filled sofabed. 
* Queen sofabed is in the livingroom.
There are two full baths:  A bathtub is in the downstairs bathroom, 
and a shower is in the upstairs bathroom.

 
The kitchen has stainless steel applicances, including a fridge, Jen-
Air stove, microwave oven, convection/toaster oven, coffee-maker, 
and crockpot!  The simple, functional kitchen makes the cabin truly 
a "home away from home" where you could satisfy mountainous 
appetites with hearty meals.

A dining table with six chairs and a matching bench allow for a 
large group.  An extendable table and additional chairs are in the 
loft.  The deck has a classic weber grill, and deck furniture.  
Placesettings for 12 are available.
  
Sorry, smoking and pets are not allowed.  Applicants must be at 
least 21 years of age with a valid driver's license.

  DVD/Video player; Playstation; Collection of DVDs, videos, and 
  playstation games.  Chest full of games for all ages.  Books and 
  magazines.  Play-house furniture.
* Paper products, hair dryer, and some toiletries are provided.  
* Weber grill; Hammock; Deck furniture
* Tobaggans
* Big Trees Recreation Center - a short walk to 2 
  sparkling outdoor pools attended by lifeguards; Tennis,
  Basketball, and Volleyball courts accessible through the year.  
  Ping-pong and Baseball field--all surrounded by tall pines 
  and blue skies.

 

Activities and Attractions

Within a 1/2 hour drive are the following:
- Bear Valley Mountain Resort:  Alpine skiing and snowboarding, 
   Cross-Country skiing, Snowmobiling, Snowshoeing.  
- Lake Alpine Snow-Play Park: Sledding, Snowmobiling, Snowshoeing.  
  Due to the amount of snow, Hwy 4 is closed at Lake Alpine, so you 
  have miles of the Stanislaus National Park to play in...a true 
  Winter Wonderland.
- Big Trees State Park - Walk through and around giant sequoias!
- Arnold - White Pine Lake for swimming and fishing; award-winning 
   micro-brewery next to a golf course.
- Spicer Reservoir Snow-Play Park - Beautiful views and fun.
- Columbia - Step into history at this preserved gold-mining town.  
  Pan for gold, ride in a stage coach, watch costumed docents make 
  candles, and relish candies made by the fourth generation of 
  Nelson owners.
- Murphys - go wine-tasting at award-winning wineries, and browse 
  quaint shops at this little historic gold-mining town dubbed "the 
  Next Carmel"
- Sourgrass Recreation Area - White-water rafting and natural rock 
  slides at the Stanislaus River.
- Caves and Caverns - rappell into a cavern and experience pitch 
  darkness
- Pacific Crest Trail for hikers, the "Death Ride" for cyclists, 
  Robert Trent Jr. courses for golfers, and school for rock climbers 
  ...Calaveras offer the best to recreation lovers.

Within 1-hour Drive:
- Grovers Hot Springs- soak in reputedly healing waters that flow 
  from the mountain into a pool 
- Indian Casinos, including Black Oak Casino with family-friendly 
  bowling alley and arcade.
- Copperopolis -horseback riding; boat and jet ski rental.
- Many trails and lakes, including Highland Lake and Raymond Lake.

About 2-hour Drive:
- Lake Tahoe - pristine lake and hub of casinos with live 
  entertainment (Hwy 4 closed in the winter.  Access via Jackson)
- Yosemite - sheer granite cliffs and hiking next to tumbling 
  waterfalls
