March 1-31, 2009.  ...truly wonderful and relaxing... we shall miss the surf and Myrtle (the tortoise that everyday appears at 11:30).  Thanks for it all.  Your home made us feel at home - and who could ask for more than that!?!  See you next March!

WOW! This place is so fabulous! It was a tad bit cool outside but other than that it was great! I loved the outdoor shower. We found at least 6 shark teeth and one was at least 1 inch! We plan to return some day! Thanks so much!

My wife is a teacher so we came down for fall break and WOW!!! We had a FANTASTIC TIME! Villa D was perfect, so peaceful and very relaxing. It has been years since my mother-in-law was on the beach and she so enjoyed her time here. Our son hit the surf with his skim board every day and we even fell asleep on the sand one afternoon. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us and we hope to come back soon! The Jewells & Nash Family

This has been a wonderful trip for us. The weather was great. This is our 5th or 6th trip to Villa D and we are never disappointed. We brought my mother on this trip – a belated 87th birthday gift. She had not been to the beach in years and it was such a memorable moment for me to see the smile on her face when she saw the ocean again. Thanks for opening your home to us again. We all had a great time.

You have been so kind in helping me arrange this getaway. So glad we were able to add the extra days. I can’t say enough about your wonderful villa! We had one rainy day and even that day was fun as we took long walks and enjoyed watching the wild surf. So easy to relax here. We will surely return and will not hesitate to recommend the villa to others. Love the location and the views of the ocean. Great layout and so nicely decorated. We greatly enjoyed the large deck! Thanks again

You have a lovely beach house!! The view is wonderful and we loved no steps all the way from the garage to the beach!! We have been coming to Amelia as an extended family for ten years and I have to say, this home is our favorite. You have thought of every convenience and the spacious living and dining rooms were perfect. The Hilliard and Hickman families P.S. Our children thought the outside showers were Awesome!

A "Crown Jewel"

Review submitted: October 26, 2011   Date of arrival: July 9, 2011

July 9 - July 23

Thank you so very much for sharing your gorgeous beach home with us. We so enjoyed it, as did our precious little Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Emily Katherine. Your beach home is quite relaxing – just what we needed. We look so forward to returning next year too. I already know the dates – Yippie! Another 2 or maybe 3 weeks!!!

It was wonderful returning to Fernandina after my 8 year absence as I took care of my late beloved parents. Many things have changed, but it will always be Fernandina – where we spent every summer. Now my vacation will be to return here every year, every summer. We so much appreciate the kindness, thoughtfulness and generosity you have graciously extended towards us.

Again, thank you for sharing your beautiful beach home with us. It is truly “a crown jewel” to be cherished. See you next year – July 2012!

Regards with sincere appreciation,

JoAlice, Steve, Patrick and Emily Katherine

Your “Home Away From Home” is the best!

Review submitted: October 26, 2011   Date of arrival: June 18, 2011

We have been coming to the island as a family for 64 years, seen so many changes, stayed at many different places. As a young married couple we were fortunate enough to stay at my father-in-law’s bosses’ home on the beach and then we rented for many years. Your “home away from home” is the best! We love the floor plan and the beautiful dunes. Also the wildlife as seen from the villa. We have seen numerous turtles, a hawk and had a very bossy seagull. Our 17 year old found 55 sharks teeth so good luck to the next guests!

Wonderful Villa… so grateful to have a lovely place with no steps!!!

Everything We Needed

Review submitted: October 26, 2011   Date of arrival: June 4, 2011

A family gathering to celebrate Robie’s HS graduation from FBHS. Family from here, Atlanta, Nashville and Cocoa FL. We all had a really good time and enjoyed our stay. There are several “Myrtle the Turtles” running around in the dunes. The weather was perfect the whole week. WE cooked and grilled here most of the time.

Fort Clinch is very interesting and riding bikes within the reserve is cheap and a lot of fun with nice views and mostly shady oak canopies overhead. Well worth doing. A nice scenic drive is to head south on South Fletcher.

The sunrises are great whether walking or having coffee on the patio. The historic downtown area is one of the best we have seen… very scenic. The blocks surrounding downtown are riddled with old homes that are really beautiful and well maintained.

We all had just a great time here at Villa D and it would be nice to be able to come back and do this again. Thanks to the owner this place has most anything you need for a week outing.

Thanks a Lot!
