Chincoteague Retreat -- Great Offseason Rates! in Chincoteague Island

If you like a sense of being away when you go away on vacation, our house is ideal.  It is on 1/3 acre on a dead-end lane, just off Little Oyster Bay.  It is surrounded by 100-year old cedars, spruces and pines.  Even on the busiest weekends it is a wonderfully tranquil place, yet is only about five blocks from the road that takes you to Assateague Island.

We have a couple periods still open this summer, including July 3-5 -- three nights for $600.

We offer great offseason rates.  In spring and fall, weekends are just $275 for two nights, $350 for three.  Four-night midweek stays are just $350.      

For anyone who loves nature and wildlife, our house is ideal.  Because of our location -- surrounded by mature trees, a bay and undeveloped land, you can sit on our screened porch and watch and listen to an extraordinary variety of birds.  We're within walking distance of a very nice nature trail.  And we're very close to the entrance to Assateague Island, which is a wildlife preserve.

The house is very comfortable.  It has two bedrooms and a half bath upstairs.  Downstairs it has a living room with a gas-burning cast-iron stove and a family room/dining room, along with a full bath.  A large screened porch with skylights and a ceiling fan is off the family room.  It looks out onto several willow trees.  There is a second enclosed porch off the living room. The kitchen is small but well equipped.  There is an outbuilding that is useful for storing bikes and beach gear, as well as an outdoor shower and a new gas grill. 

The house is fully air conditioned and well heated in the winter. There are also a washer/dryer, a TV with cable, a DVD/VCR player and a stereo that plays CDs and supports Ipods.  We have high-speed internet. The house can sleep six, with two double beds in one bedroom, two new twin beds in the other bedroom and a full-size futon downstairs. 
We have a housekeeper clean between rentals. 

There is great biking and walking from our house.  We are a half-mile from a new nature trail.  There is a public boat launch a half mile away.  There are restaurants and shops on Maddox Blvd., five blocks away.  The stores along Main Street are about a mile away, five minutes by car. 

The beaches are on Assateague Island, which is a national wildlife preserve with no development.  There are miles of biking and walking trails on the island. We are relatively close to the entrance to Assateague, which is 5-7 minutes away by car.

Summer (June 15 - Labor Day): $850 weekly. Pony-penning week and July 4 week are $950.

April 1-June 15 & Labor Day-Oct. 31: $600 weekly; $275-350 for 2 or 3-day weekends; $300/400 for 3/4-day midweek.

Holiday weekends: $450 for 3 nights.

Offseason: $500 weekly; $200-$275 for 2 or 3-day weekends; $300 4-day midweek.

$60 cleaning fee. Pets in non-summer only -- $25 extra cleaning fee. 11% city, county and state taxes.
