vacation rental description
Escape to a beautiful, private, 3 acre retreat just 2 hours from NYC. This home is a 4000sqft completely updated contemporary/eclectic country mix with a very open feel.
The house is across from the Ashokan Reservoir, in a semi-wooded setting overlooking our private pond (great for ice skating when frozen and catch and release fishing for the kids in the warmer months)! There are 5 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. The master bedroom has a King bed, ensuite bathroom and oversized Kohler soaking tub with French doors to a private balcony that overlooks the garden and pond. In the remaining bedrooms there are (3) Queen Beds, and a Double Bed. There is also a twin day bed in the 2nd level sitting room. The house can technically sleep ten (10) but we have always enjoyed the house as a family of five. The spacious gourmet kitchen with Viking appliances including wine fridge and separate under counter drink/snack fridge for the kiddies or entertaining. The kitchen also has a large prep counter/breakfast bar and a wood burning stove. This lovely kitchen then leads into a large dining room with sitting area. From the dining room the french doors will lead you to the flag stone patio with large DCS stainless steel grill. Follow the stone path to the inground natural salt swimming pool with large custom cobble stone deck that overlooks the natural pond. Well behaved dogs are welcome inside the house.
The house is conveniently located to hiking, skiing, fishing, golf, restaurants, galleries, antiques, shopping, farmer’s markets, or just relaxing at the pool as you enjoy the serenity of being surrounded by nature. We are just 10 from Woodstock, 15 minutes to Kingston, 20 minutes to Saugerties, 25 minutes to New Paltz. This is a great romantic getaway or place for a family style vacation, you will be enchanted!
