The River House is nestled in a very private 1.5 acres tropical garden, only 5 minutes from downtown Uvita, the national park and beach of Ballena as well as Playa Hermosa and a fast array of restaurants and tourist attractions. The house with its adjoining guest cabin fits 6 people (3 queen size beds) and features a 35m2 salt-water pool with a big outside recreational area to play ping-pong, relax or just enjoy nature. A guard lives nearby on premises to ensure your 24 hour security.

The house sits right next to the Higueron River, which allows for perfect wildlife watching right from the leisure of the deck, bedroom or living room. At dry season, you can also hike up the river or down to the ocean.

Pick your breakfast from the own exotic fruit featuring banana, mango, lemon, orange, avocado and guava trees or start your day with a peaceful Yoga session by the pool. Whether you like watching toucans, parrots or monkeys straight from the comfort of the hammock or prefer to have an action filled day surfing, ATV-ing or whale watching, you will find the River House to be your perfect vacation rental.

Uvita is a little tranquil place located between the surf town of Dominical and the French-Canadian stronghold Ochojal on the southern Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. There are endless unpopulated beaches in and around Uvita (Ventana, Hermosa, Dominicalito, Turtle Beach, etc.) allowing for many different activities ranging from scuba diving, fishing, surfing, whale & dolphin watching, snorkeling, sun bathing or just swimming. The steep rainforest mountain ridges, which abruptly reaches the unspoiled black volcanic beaches do not only highlight the area's uniqueness and natural beauty but also allow a peaceful co-existence between wildlife and human kind.

Uvita is conveniently located 35 minutes from a newly constructed top of the line hospital in Cortez (2008), as well as 45 minutes from the regional and soon international airport of Palma Sur. San Isidro de General is the nearest bigger sized town with 45,000 population and well-organized infrastructure. The national park of Ballena is located in Uvita and offers horseback riding on the beach, wildlife watching and more. The Corcovado and Manuel Antonio national parks are 3-4 hours from Uvita.

Great international cuisines are represented in the area varying from Thai to Australian restaurants. A pharmacy, dentist, doctor, supermarket and gas station are located right in town.

Activities around the area include canopying, ATV tours, scuba diving, surfing, yoga lessons, horseback riding, fishing, canoeing, and many more.
