Château de Villarlong - Beautiful holiday apartments for 2 to 6 guests, Table d'Hôtes, Pool, Tennis. Representing much more than just a holiday apartment, and offering much more privacy than any hotel-suite, every dwelling of Château de Villarlong will be a magnificent location for our guests.

Château de Villarlong - Situated in Languedoc-Roussillon, one of the most beautiful and naturally reserved landscapes of South France, between Carcassonne and the Mediterranean coast. The landscaping is provided with gentle hills and agricultural environment, with a typical Mediterranean climate. In the AOC-Minervois wine-growing area you can also find great historical heritage: the Cité of Carcassonne, the Canal du Midi, the castles of the Catharians, the pilgrims’ way to Santiago de Compostela that passed by Villarlong, and a great variety of historical churches and monuments.

Both wings of the Chateau have been rebuilt into spacious, extravagant apartments – each with open fireplace and private terrace – for 2, 4 or 6 guests.

The apartments capture an aura of being remote from urban influence in a very special way; the unique atmosphere of the Chateau remains unchanged. The monumental, extravagant basic structures of the building have been maintained. All apartments have modern, well-equipped kitchens, with dishwasher, ceran hot plates, etc. Some of the apartments are designed after a certain motto: the historical background of the Chateau as place of refuge for victims of persecution in the Middle Ages and the colonial connections with Africa and Southeast Asia in the 19th century have been taken up for inspiration - not claiming to be ethnologically perfect. Other apartments are designed according to Mediterranean style. The names are taken from the surrounding castles of the Catharians; the names of the motto-inspired apartments are taken from the country they are referring to.

Château de Villarlong - South Wing apartments

I. Durfort 2 per., approx. 59 m2, extravagant apartment with very impressive natural stone walls in the living-room area, generously designed timber-work, gorgeous open fireplace in dining- and cooking-area, slanted walls on separate heights, very comfortable bedroom, bathroom, separate toilet, terrace.

II. Pa-Chai 2 per., approx. 77 m2, very beautiful apartment with 6 m high rounded barrel-vault of natural stone, part of the designing ideas were inspired by the „Feng Shui“ principles. In-laid rock floor with riverbed stones. Spacious living room with open fireplace creating a wonderful, relaxing atmosphere, inspired by the soft flowing sounds of the Zen-version of a cascade. Quiet bedroom, neatly arranged bathroom, separate toilet, kitchen, and terrace.

III. Peyrepertuse 4 per., approx. 111 m2, very large and extravagantly furnished living room with open fireplace in impressive, approximately 6 m high barrel-vault made of natural stone. This splendid apartment spread over 2 levels also includes 2 comfortable bedrooms (one of them in the upper level with integrated bathroom), another large bathroom, a separate toilet, a beautiful built-in kitchen, and 2 magnificent terraces – one towards the romantic patio, the other one towards the south-side.

IV. Essaouira 6 per., approx.123 m2, the beauty of this apartment begins with the charming, ancient flight of double-spiral staircase: you are living on 2 levels in partly 8 m high rooms, the interior designing inspired by a touch of Morocco. Elements like open niches, Moroccan arched doorframes, Terracotta floors, reddish wall-plastering as well as luxurious textiles, carpets, lanterns from Marrakech underline a colorful oriental flair.
