We had a great stay. The place was very comfortable and clean. It was nice being able to take our dogs. Beautiful view. Great host. Well worth the price. I would recommend this place to anyone. Nice solid docks. Friendly neighbors. Pack your bags you're in for a great time.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, pet-friendly

Decent summer spot

Although we also had the main bedroom that smelled bad, I told Dale when we left and he said he would address it. That was the only issue we had. It rained more than once and nothing leaked at all. The windows that had screens opened just fine. The air conditioner was a blessing as was the ice maker. The HBO and Show was nice for the kids because we could always find a movie before bed. There was wood for a fire and fresh water for showers. The grill was great and there was plenty of outdoor seating for our guests. The lake is pretty weedy and shallow there so while the kids liked swimming the adults chose to take our boat to the lake and swim. However, I did see others swimming and floating so it just depends on your personal choice of whether you can swim in weeds or not. Lastly, a canoe was provided so the kids used that a bunch as well. Overall, we had a great time and it was a typical lake house for a summer vacation. Nothing spectacular but nothing horrible either and it was nice having the washer and dryer when swimming clothes got stinky :-)

Disappointment

Although we didn't expect the rental to be a "palace," we were not prepared for one of the bedrooms to smell like a dead animal was it it. Even with sprays, air fresheners and an air purifier, it still reeked. Sleeping on an air mattress was better than sleeping on the one bed that felt like the springs were going to give out at any moment. The fan was sooooo dirty and greasy, that we took it apart to clean it even before we unpacked. Let's not forget when it rained, the hallway flooded which ran into the kitchen and then the laundry room roof leaked all over our paper goods. None of the windows were opened either because they didn't or they were bug infested and we did not want to open them. Two of the 3 dressers had broken drawers which meant they had to be removed and placed on the floor so we had access to our clothes. We made the best of a bad situation, but we would never return or recommend this rental to others.
