activities and attractions in Bailey Colorado

Hiking: You are only minutes from great hiking trail heads in the Pike National Forest from Deer Creek Cabin. You'll see those signs as you drive to the cabin. We have hiked the Rosalie Trail, the Tanglewood Trail and the Meridian Trail, all close to the cabin.

Fishing: If you are a fisherman there is no doubt that you have heard of South Park. Even back in the old days, South Park fishing and hunting had reached the ears of people in distant lands. They came from as far away as England and Ireland to enjoy the plentiful bounty of the Park. South Park is the name and fishing is the game.

Skiing: You are 1.5 hours from Breckenridge Ski Resort. Take I-285W to Fairplay, then Hwy. 9 through Hoosier Pass to Breckenridge. You are also only 2 hours from Winter Park. Take I-285W East toward Denver to Conifer, turn right there to Evergreen to I-70 and follow a map from there.

Whitewater Rafting: We enjoy River Runners. Their Fisherman's Bridge office is located on the banks of the Arkansas River just 5 miles south of Buena Vista on US Hwy 285. With gentle waters, awesome scenery and exciting rapids this section of river offers something for people of all ages and abilities.

Great find

Review submitted: June 28, 2014   Date of arrival: June 23, 2014

We so enjoyed our week at Deer Creek Cabin it is truly a heavenly nature retreat with million $ views. Not only are we fully relaxed but we were able to hike to beautiful waterfalls, horse back ride in the mountains and whitewater raft this week. Deer walked by the windows regularly and we even had a bear sighting. Amazing week, cabin and hosts! Already planning our trip back!

Great cabin

Review submitted: November 28, 2012   Date of arrival: November 9, 2012

I love this cabin. When I got there the cabin has a wonderful feel to it. I went up there with my dog for 2 nights. The cabin has everything you need including a full kitchen. It was very relaxing to have a fire and then to take a hot tub while it was snowing was perfect. I recommend this place to everyone. The owner was a pleasure to work with.

Perfect!

Review submitted: August 15, 2012   Date of arrival: August 9, 2012

The cabin was perfect! My girlfriend and I (and our pup Hobbes) had a great vacation at WYSIWYG Cabin. It was close to several great trails and far from civilization (but not so far that a trip into Denver one evening was out of the question) which is exactly what we were looking for. We are from the deep south so the cool nighttime temps felt like late fall/winter to us and the wood burning stove was put to cozy use every night. We loved it so much we called David and arranged an extra night. Highly recommended and we WILL be back!

Recommended for: adventure seekers, pet-friendly, romantic getaway

Owners response: Josh, I'm so glad you all had a good time. Thanks for leaving the cabin looking so great. I give 10% discount to return renters, so keep that in mind when you head this way again... and spread the word amongst your friends for me as well! David
