vacation rental description

The views from this gulf front home are unbelievable!  Walk off the deck and you are on the beach, steps from the ocean, set your stuff and leave it.  No shared boardwalks, community access, or streets to hassle with.

This 4/4 beach front home has been meticulously constructed with sea grass green hardi siding, metal roof, vaulted cypress tongue and groove ceilings, wide plank Australian cypress floors, upscale furnishings that are beach (kid) friendly, artsy, in cool key west colors.  The bedding is plush with luxurious linens, thick thirsty towels, and blankets.  The baths all have Mexican sealed satillio tile, solid surface flecked  vanities, and fun professionally designed tiled showers and tubs.  There is a fireplace which is made with 850 year old reclaimed timbers from the bottom of Apalachiacola river, ceiling fans throughout and a kitchen to die for!  Silestone countertops, stainless steel appliances, beadboard cabinetry, fully stocked with every dish, appliance, pan, pot, or utensil you could possibly need.

There are two master suites with beautiful views of the ocean. One master with a king bed has beautiful potterybarn furnishings in vibrant key west colors and a awesome master bathroom.  4 large windows overlook the ocean.

The second master suite has a queen bed and is designed in nautical style.  Red, white, and denim blue furnishings.  It also has it's own private luxurious bath suite. 3 large windows overlooking the ocean.

The third bedroom has a queen bed with cream distressed beachy furniture, beautiful organic coastal linens with private bathroom located steps away in the hallway.

Fourth bedroom is Kid's paradise with it's own funky artsy bathroom.  Vibrant colors with twin over full bunk and a Maui striped futon.  Has additional kid size arts/craft table with chairs.

All bedrooms have flat panel televisions.

Check out the wow factor in the photos with the windows.  There are three full glass huge picture windows in the two story living room that overlook the ocean with unobstructed views. The sun sets directly in front of this home for the most spectacular sunsets you have ever seen.  You can literally sit on the front deck OR covered back porch relaxing and watch your kids play in the sand and surf.

This beach is incredible. Voted #1 beach in all of America (Port St. Joe State Park) three years in a row.  White sand beaches, blue/green ocean, dolphins playing daily, loggerhead turtles, amazing fishing, and the infamous St. Joe State Park (where my kids find sand dollars the size of dinner plates)! You can wade in the bay's crystal clear waters at the park and find hermit crabs, sting ray, fish, craps, scallops, starfish, even manatees!

With all this I saved the best for last.  You can still have bonfires (can you say oyster roasts) on the beach and even ride horses with the local stables.  We have fished right in front of our home, caught dinner, and then cooked it on the beach. This is definitely old Florida, no crowds, beautiful sand and water as well as complete relaxation.  You are going to LOVE IT!

Beatiful Beach Home

TomZ (Chicago, IL)
Review submitted: March 30, 2013   Date of arrival: March 23, 2013

My family, 4 young children (age 6 and under) and the grandparents had a wonderful week trip in Cape San Blas. The house is very spacious and colorful. Even though the weather was not the warmest, we made bonfires on the beach and had nice fires in the house. The beach was so close and we could be in the house and still watch the kids playing outside. We would stay here again!

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway

2012 Vacation

Camil (Whitesburg, Ky)
Review submitted: July 4, 2012   Date of arrival: June 24, 2012

The home is very nice and Kelly was great to deal with. We started our trip with Tropical storm Debby which put a kink in our plans the first couple days :( but after that the weather was beautiful and the water cleared soon after. The house had everything we could need the only suggestions would be a gas grill instead of charcoal and a awning for the front deck...the home is spacious lots of seating inside and out...we snorkeled in the bay at the park, went on a snorkeling trip with seahorse safari, went horseback riding on the beach, fishing from the shore, and made a trip one day shopping to Panama City. We visited Coneheads for ice cream, trading post for those quick items, and lots of trips to piggly wiggly..lol...the closest grocery. We ate at Toucans ( which was good but pricey) , provisions in Mexico beach which was great and definitely recommend, and we bought some local seafood one night and cooked at home. We grabbed lunch one day in port saint joe at Beach Combers which was great and highly recommend .....recommend this home and it's owners .....we definitely hope to visit again!!!! FYI...it's definitely remote so plan to drive a little if you are looking to do the typical "beach touristy" things but its quiet and family oriented just what we were looking for but close enough to find things for everyone to enjoy :)

Cape calling again

Peg (South Dennis, Ma)
Review submitted: January 21, 2012   Date of arrival: January 1, 2012

This is our third winter returning to Cape San Blas and this wonderful home. The owners have thought of every thing one could possibly need to have a fantastic vacation. We leave the cold Cape Cod of Massachusetts and head for the sunny Cape San Blas, Florida. We cannot say enough about this lovely beach house.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers
