vacation rental description
Overview
This nearly new custom lakefront home is set in the Blue Ridge Mountains just 10 minutes from I-40 and 40 minutes east of downtown Asheville, NC. This 5,000 sf home will surely become one of your favorite places on Earth.
This upscale 4 bedroom, 4 1/2 bath home with a 2-car garage sleeps 10 people very comfortably. It is set in a secluded and somewhat rural gated community but is within a 10 minute drive of grocery stores, restaurants, the beautiful new YMCA and the McDowell Mission Hospital.
The dock has a swim platform and a slip for a 30 foot boat.
A Day at the Lake
Awaken to a cup of fresh ground coffee on the covered mahogany deck and enjoy a picture perfect sunrise view over the glassy-smooth waters of Lake James and the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains beyond.
After breakfast you might dive from the private dock located in a protected cove and into the cool, pure, refreshing water of the 200 ft deep Lake James, which is fed by two rivers and boasts 140 miles of 90 percent undeveloped coastline. With a little luck you might see an otter! When not swimming, fishing, boating, riding your PWC, relaxing in the sun or shade, you will enjoy pool, foosball, ping-pong, or darts in the lower level playroom with 8ft tall sliding glass walls that open onto a large cobblstone patio with plenty of seating for all. The playroom and the patio, like all other rooms have the same breathtaking views of the lake and the mounains.
When you've had enough sun, put your feet up on one of the ottomans or enjoy one of the rocking chairs you will find in my favorite room, the covered mahogany deck which will easily seat all 12 people. It is very private and of course has the same incredible views. The Big Green Egg cooker will make the best food you have ever eaten.
Once the sun goes down, be sure to sit on the uncovered cobblestone deck, watch an incrdible sunset, locate the Big Dipper and watch for falling stars. You'll listen to a symphony of bullfrogs and whip-poor-wills.
Before bed, unwind in the whirpool tub. You'll want to get to bed early so you can do it all over again tomorrow!
