There is also a single airbed to use to use on available floor space if needed. San Diego South Mission Beach Living at its finest.  Mission Beach is the center of a continuous stretch of beach known as The Strand, which extends over two miles just south of Pacific Beach and LaJolla. It begins at the Mission Bay channel entrance and ends at the north end of Pacific Beach. Mission Beach is the most popular beach area in the City of San Diego and the premiere vacation rental area particularly during Spring Break and the Summer months. It offers warm sands and pleasant weather particularly during summer, an escape from the humid heat of the East and the high heat of the Western Desert communities in the summer.

Using the photo “Mission Beach Mission Bay” to orient you some…   the length of the beach is about 2.5 mi…  We are at the south end next to the Jetty,   Bayside park and Beach Volley ball courts…   Belmont Amusement park is about 15 min walk…     It has some good restaurants… like Canes..    Even before that there is a small store, coffee shop  a pizza restaurant and  another pizza place plus Mexican food take out order..    There is also a couple of sports bars across from the restaurant a few blocks up from Asbury Ct.     About a mile down is SASKAS (nice) sea food and several small eateries.   A little further is World Famous beach side restaurant, Tony Romas..  and more….    The Green Flash beach side restaurant is almost to the pier about 1.7 mi.   

We like the walk down the board walk as it is vibrant and alive during the summer (not to mention we or at least I can use the exercise)  to one of the beach restaurants for dinner.     Whether you only go as far as Belmont Park or all the way down, you can find anything you would like or need in that stretch of “Boardwalk”…   

We have recently purchased 4 “Beach Bikes” to make a quick trips to the store..   Included also are beach equipment such as 2 ice chests, Beach umbrella,  6 Boogie board and a small surf board and sand castle build toys for children..

Every popular water sport and activity is available within the 5 square mile Mission Bay and the adjacent 2 mile long Mission Beach.  Activities (on site and nearby) Theme Park Belmont and Sea World (Amusement Parks), San Diego Zoo/Wildlife Park, Shopping on Boardwalk, Sightseeing, Restaurants, Sailing, Boating, Waterskiing, Jet Skiing, Shelling, Swimming, Biking, Roller Skating, Surfing, Body Surfing, Boogie Board Surfing, Wind Surfing, Kiaking, Snorkeling/Diving, Wildlife Viewing, Fishing, Fitness Center/Gym and of course just about any water sport or activity not already mentioned.
