This truly is a once in a lifetime oppourtunity to stay in this breathtaking artist retreat.  The owner, world-renowned artist Karen Davidson, is painting in Tuscany for Autumn of 2009, which provides this rare oppourtunity to rent her magnificant home and studio while she is away.  The home is situated on a promontory with commanding views of the renowned Alenuihaha Channel where whales winter and the 5 mountians of Hawaii are visable on a clear day.  There is only sweeping hillsides between you and the ocean- as the entire shoreline has been protected by conservation trusts.  The house is brillantly designed to capture lush sunrises rising from the ocean, and sunsets over the mountians of Haleakala National Park. Rolling pastures with horses, cows and stately trees give way to dramatic shoreline completing feelings of deep peace and serenity.  Just minutes from pristine beaches, waterfalls, mountain hikes, and natural pools....this is truly a slice of paradise.

 This home has it all!  Cable, high speed internet, marble bath with indoor and outdoor showers, professional kitchen, gas range, solar hot water, and serenity.  Elegant, artist designed master suite. There is also an adjacent art studio with a 1/2 bath and outdoor shower.  Enjoy an evening under the stars around the outdoor stone firepit overlooking the ocean.  Awaken to the sounds of tropical birds....pick from a variety of fragrant flowers, gardenias, jasmine and gingers...and enjoy fresh herbs from the garden just steps from the kitchen.

Though you may find yourself never wanting to leave the serenity of the retreat...there are countless activities nearby. 

• We are just 5 miles from the famous Seven Sacred Pools- where bamboo forests give way to cascading waterfalls, and freshwater pools leading down to the ocean.
• Waioka Pond (Venus Pools)- 2 miles away.  Beautiful freshwater pond, on the oceans edge.  Dramatic ocean waves spash into the quiet waters.  A favorite place for locals to jump off rocks into the deep blue pool below.
• Hamoa Beach- voted one of the top 10 beaches in world is just 5 miles away. Beautiful white sand, with safe swimming/snorkling and surfing.
• Koki Beach- 6 miles away. Surfers favorite beach...without a house in sight.  Learn to surf, or enjoy watching some of Hana's local surfers.
• Red Sands Beach- Steep cliffs give way to unique red sand and touquoise waters creating a masterpiece of color.
• Black Sands Beach- Waianapanapa State Park- Home of the famous Black sands beach, caves, blow holes, and numerous hikes.

We are hoping to find a likeminded artist, or writer who will fully appreciate the serenity and breathtaking views that this retreat offers. Price breaks available if we find the right person/couple who would like to rent the retreat for all of September and October.
