The "Singing River" Retreat in San Bernard River

The Singing River Retreat is nestled off the beaten path and is situated on 1 acre of land with 600 sq. ft of River Frontage which makes your stay a very very private one.

'The Karankawa Indians settled along the lower San Bernard.  During high winds and low tides, the river makes a weird musical sound as the wind blows over the exposed oyster reefs.  the indians named the river, "the singing river".

The San Bernard River is one of the most popular rivers in southern Texas for skiing, boat, and fishing!!!!  The fish is in the San Bernard are:  Blue Catfish, Flounder, Speckled Trout,Crab Oysters and others  or just hop on over to the beach in Freeport approximately 9 miles.

For those History Buffs you may visit the Varner-Hogg Plantation (Once home to Governor of Texas, James S. Hogg) in West Columbia and the Levi Jordan Plantation in Brazoria, Texas
