Cable Lake Vacation Cottage-Spacious Kitchen and Living Room in Sister Lakes

Our vacation home is located in Sister Lakes Michigan, on Cable Lake.  Sister Lakes is about a 2-hour drive form Chicago, Illinois, a 45 minutes drive from South Bend, Indiana and a 3-hour drive from Detroit, Michigan. 

The vacation home is a 1600 sq. ft. ranch house with 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a very large mudroom, large living room, large eat in kitchen, and a spacious 3 car driveway.  There is also a sliding glass door with access to a deck from the kitchen and a view of the lake from the living room.  The large backyard has plenty of space for campfires, barbecuing, playing games and catching lightning bugs.

Cable Lake is a private lake, approximately 100 acres in size, and is a non-motorized lake.  This makes it perfect for swimming, floating on rafts, windsurfing, canoeing, paddle boating, sail boating and fishing.  Cable Lake offers a sunny, sand-bottom swimming beach, with a pier, rafts, picnic tables, pavilion, large grassy play area, and a large shade tree.  The swimming beach is only a ½ block walk from the house.  There is also another beach, 2 blocks further, which has a fishing pier. 

There are also several additional lakes that have public boat access for water skiing, tubing, and jet skiing within 10 minutes of the house.  There are several marinas less than 5 minutes from the house. 

The house is a year round house with gas heat and central air conditioning.

The house can sleep 8 people.

Living Room:  pull out sofa with a queen bed
Pack and Play
No bed linens, pillows, or towels provided

The house has a basic equipped kitchen including:
dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, glasses, cups, pots & pans, hand mixer,  toaster, blender, waffle iron, coffee maker, crock pot, microwave, stove/oven,  refrigerator/freezer  

The house has a full size washer and dryer. A Laundromat is also nearby.
The house does NOT have a telephone.
A fire pit, propane grill and outdoor table and chairs are available.

Sorry NO smoking or pets allowed.

On Cable Lake you can enjoy:
 A sandy beach with shallow walk in area that gradually increases in depth for more advance swimmers

Weather permitting rafts are in the water from Memorial Day to Labor day

Canoeing, paddle boating, windsurfing and sailing boating

There is a fishing pier walking distance from the house

Bass, Northern Pike, Bluegill, Walleye and Perch are in the lake.

Campfires, grilling, walking, bike riding, sunsets.

Other Activates:
If you prefer motorized water sports Magician, Round, Big Crooked, Little Crooked and Dewy Lakes all have public access boat ramps and are within a 10-minute car ride. 

Magician Lake (5 minutes away) is known for hosting numerous Bass Tournaments and has Northern Pike, Muskie, Walleye and Bullhead fish.

Many public golf courses are nearby.

Orchards where you can purchase fruit or pick your own.

Sister Lake has restaurants, pubs, ice cream parlor and gift shop, bowling alley, roller rink, drive-in movie and other ongoing events.

2 Four Winds Casinos within a 15 minute drive: Hartford and Dowagiac (opening Srping 2013) 

You are within a 30-minute car ride to:
Dowagiac Michigan, which offers antique shops, restaurants, ice cream parlor, community theater and many festivals.

St. Joseph Michigan, which offers various shops, antique shops, restaurants, several ice cream parlors, Curious Kids Museum, Silver Beach, Whirlpool Splash pad, Carousel and many activities and events. Also great views of the Lighthouse and sunsets over Lake Michigan.

South Haven Michigan, which offers many shops, restaurants, Boat Museum, beach and many activities and events.

Berrien Springs Michigan, come the first weekend in October for the HUGE Chapel Hill Craft Show:

• Over 260 inside exhibitors and 50+ Outside Vendor/Farmer Market spaces.
• Held the First Saturday of October, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. (EST)
• The Show is located at the Berrien County Youth Fairgrounds, 9122 Old US 31 N., Berrien Springs, MI.
