Enjoy privacy in our four story home nestled in an Oak and Magnolia Hammock just one block from the ocean. Our house is surrounded with lush trees that reach up to the third floor. Built in '92, this custom home is luxurious with many windows, wood detailing and decorated with art from neighboring artists and pieces from around the world. The birding is fantastic with views in all directions through the trees from the ground up to the tree tops. We have nesting green and yellow-crowned night herons, along with many songbirds including painted buntings.
Our house boasts a crow's nest which affords panoramic views of the ocean, ICW - Matanzas River, Summer Haven River, Marshlands, Matanzas inlet and Monument, and of course a spectacular sunset and sunrise. You can see south to Marineland, and north to the St. Augustine Beach pier. The yard is lovely, sheltered by the large trees and has a hammock and a slide and zip line for kids.
The fourth floor loft with 360 degree ocean and river views, has a king size bed, full size bed and bath with jacuzzi bath tub.
The third floor has a queen size bed, two bedrooms with full size beds, one bathroom, living room with large picture windows, and a sitting room with a private balcony stretching from the east and south sides of the house.
The second floor has an open plan with kitchen, dining room, living area with television/dvd and a bathroom. There is also a shaded porch with stairs to enter on this level and a hammock.
The first floor has one bedroom and bathroom with laundry facilities and separate entrance (but is still connected with interior staircase).
The house is very well insulated and lends itself to open air or ac/heat.
Summer Haven is a lovely historic neighborhood with long-time residents that know what a special spot this is - it used to be home to the Mellon and Carnegie families back in the day. Their descendants still own some of the original homes and walking around can be like stepping back in time. There are modern homes with the historic homes and all ages call Summer Haven home.
