vacation rental description
We love our great weekend getaway house, and you will too. It's right on the beach and it has a great deck overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, and private stairs to walk right down to the sand. If you're a surfer, the waves are great for surfing right in front of the house! Quiet (no driving) end of the beach. IMPORTANT: To get to the front door, you must walk up a flight of stairs, as the house is on pilings. NO SMOKING HOUSE.
house rental amenities
Two living areas with a living room downstairs and a family room upstairs. The Master Bedroom has a Queen bed, and upstairs are two additional bedrooms, one with a queen trundle bed (sleeps four) and the other bedroom has two twin beds. The house has a fireplace, microwave, DVD/VCR, Cable TV high speed internet access and free calling in the US and Canada. House has been remodeled with new kitchen, new carpet and tile.
activities and attractions in New Smyrna Beach Atlantic Coast Central
New Smyrna Beach is an old ocean port that has a great little downtown. Located about an hour from Orlando, most of the beachside homes and condos here belong to Orlando-area folks who come over during the summer with the kids, or on weekends and some rent them out for a week at a time during the summer, and a month at a time during the winter. About two blocks away are the public tennis courts and the town golf course is about fifteen minutes away. There is one restaurant within walking distance (JB's- about five minutes) and it's casual seafood and drinks. You can also rent a kayak at JB's and check out the manatees that live in the river certain times of the year. Not too many major restaurants here, except for the Outback Steakhouse and a Dunkin Donuts. Lots of little family-owned restaurants and shops. No Starbucks (yet) but we love the Flagler Coffee Shop. Grocery shopping is about five minutes by car, as is surfing at the county beaches. About ten minutes away, you can get to the local movie theatre or rent boats of any size, or go out deep-sea fishing. If you need more beach and nature, Canaveral National Seashore is a half mile to the South and sports some of the greatest sand and nature life. If you're lucky, you'll catch a space shuttle going off, about ten miles away, which lights up the sky!
