Brief Description: This newly remodeled, western style ranch home on the Bar X Ranch boasts a beautiful location on a 300 acre wildlife sanctuary east of Livingston. With over three miles of private riverfront access on the Yellowstone River, this cozy home is just a short walk from some of the best riffles and pools on the Yellowstone River. In addition to the river, numerous ponds grace the property, including the main pond, right out the front door! The stocked pond is home to plenty of 12 inch rainbows, and the brown trout are up to the seven pound range! Ducks, geese, beaver and otter also call the waters of this property home, while pheasants, turkeys, cranes and whitetail deer abound in the river bottom. A wildlife viewing treehouse down by one of the river channels is set up for some very discreet wildlife observation. Spring Creek House is the perfect place to relax after your day of recreation, indoors or outside. Enjoy the huge, beautifully maintained yard -- perfect for barefoot games and munching on some Montana apples from your own tree! When outside the home, there is some road noise from the highway if the wind is right. There are also train tracks about a 1/4 mile from the home.

General location: The home is about 10 minutes east of Big Timber, and about 35 minutes from Livingston. Billings and Bozeman are both about a one hour drive from the home.

Bedrooms: The home has three bedrooms, all decorated very tastefully, with a western theme. Two of the bedrooms have queen size beds. The third has two twin beds. There is one full bath with a shower (no tub) in the house just off the living area.

Kitchen: The large, open kitchen has an electric range and oven, a dishwasher and a microwave. There is lots of counter space, including a counter area with bar stools for folks to sit and chat with the cook. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you'll need as far as cookware and serving ware, and there is a spice cabinet with all the basics.

Dining room: The dining room table seats four comfortably. There is also seating for two or three more at the kitchen bar counter.

Living room: The comfortable living room has a woodstove for warming up on a chilly evening, comfortable seating, and a television and VCR with satellite service. Many of the furnishings throughout the home are beautiful, yet sturdy, antiques from the area.

Outdoor amenities: Out the back door is a small patio with a gas barbecue grill for those outdoor meals. There is a picnic table out back, and a great view of the large, well maintained yard -- perfect for a barefoot stroll through the grass, or just lounging around in the great outdoors. 

What's included: You’ll receive a complimentary security deposit waiver so you don’t have to pay a security deposit. Your home is completely prepped before you arrive and fully cleaned after your stay – at no charge to you. For guests who stay twelve nights or more, a weekly cleaning is also included. Additional housekeeping can all be arranged with a bit of prior notice. All Mountain Home properties have fully equipped kitchens, include good quality bed and bath linens, staples like paper goods, laundry and dish washing supplies, and our signature Mountain Home hand soaps. You just bring your gear and the groceries!

Other details: To ensure that all of our homes are maintained to the highest standards for our guests, no smoking is allowed in any of our homes and no pets are allowed on our properties without prior written approval from Mountain Home.

Activities nearby: The stocked ponds on the property are great for practice casting, or getting the kids excited about fishing. Twelve to sixteen inch trout is the norm, even for kids! A short walk takes you to the Yellowstone River, great fishing right from shore - totally private with miles of access!
