Casa de la Iguana, a beautiful restored colonial house in the historic center of Merida. All the rooms have high beamed ceilings typical of old colonial houses. One bedroom is layed out as a independent studio on the upper floor with covered roof-terrace, bar and barbacue facilities with distant-view to the cathedral, ideal to enjoy a good drink in a light breeze on the evening. Walking distance to Plaza Santa Ana, Museo de Antropologia at Paseo Montejo, Plaza Santa Lucia, the English library and to the main square. A locked parking place is also included! Stay can be combined with the use of a beautiful beach-house in Telchac Puerto.

Ideal central location to explore all the Mayan archeological sites. Merida self is famous for all the cultural activities, with lots of theaters, daily open air events, good restaurants. Most in walking distance from the house. To the beach of Progreso it is only 25 km, the beaches of Telchac Puerto are about 65 km distant. 2 golf courses, La Ceiba and one new Jack Nicklaus course can be reched by car wihin 30 minutes. Merida also has a polo club owned by a Swiss/German couple.
