traveler reviews for this chama house rental

Excellent rental!

Review submitted: August 4, 2013   Date of arrival: July 27, 2013

Absolutely wonderful place to vacation. The cabin is awesome, well-equipped and comfortable. The area is beautiful, peaceful and quiet. My only complaint is that one week simply isn't long enough (my fault). I'm already planning our return visit. For the area, I highly reccomend that you ride the Chama train and visit Heron State Park.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: The Chama Valley is a beautiful place to visit, we live on what we like to call "Chama Time" it's a slower pace, and the train is truly a step back in time. A great place for families to reconnect.

Watching the Snow

Review submitted: January 15, 2013   Date of arrival: December 23, 2012

My family loves the idea of getting away to a place where there is nothing else to do but play games, listen to music, laugh and joke with one another, and watching the snow. This is a wonderful place to do all of these things. There is enough space to be alone and be with your own thoughts or there is enough space for everyone to be together. Additionally, as wonderful as the home is; the location is absolutely magical-deer and wild turkeys walk by the front door, which you see through the large windows; if you walk out the door early in the morning there is absolute quiet-you can hear yourself breathe. Most importantly, there is the snow; the glorious, wonderful, SNOW!!! In NM it's not easy to find snow; however in Chama the snow is so wonderful and soft and glistening; you can sit for hours and just watch the snow fall, and because my grandchildren had never seen so much snow; they made snow angels and ran and played in the snow until they tired themselves out. So, if you want a place to get away from the crowd, and enjoy a magical winter wonderland experience, this is the place to do it; however don't do it during the New Year weekend-my family plans to be there at that time!!!!

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, sight seeing

Owners response: Looking forward to having you and your family here again for New Years. We just had Wireless Internet service installed at the home so expect you will have it for your visit this winter. However, as I re-read your kind note about your stay I'm thinking you may want to tell the children it is for emergencies only. Like yours, most of our best holiday memories have always been when we really got away from it ALL!
