Beautiful, modern 3 bedroom home  (queen size beds), located in the town of Ithaca with 3 full baths, accommodating 6 guests comfortably.   The property enjoys gorgeous views from almost every room, especially the Master Bedroom. There are several decks with incredible views of the lake.  The house is fully winterized and has a large wood burning fireplace in the Living Room.  There is an ample yard & a beautiful dock to enjoy the lake.  There are 50 stairs to the house so please take your party's ability to navigate the stairs into account. Located 2 miles from downtown Ithaca and 4 miles from Cornell. Very convenient to shopping, restaurants, & the Commons.

Ithaca is located in the heart of the Finger Lakes region.  There are beautiful state parks nearby with incredible hikes through breathtaking gorges, hikes range from easy to challenging.  Farmer's Market on the weekends should not be missed.  There are many wonderful things to do in Ithaca ranging from relaxing on the dock to taking a tour of the wineries.

A great vacation house!

This lake house is fabulous! It has everything you could possibly want in a cottage: full kitchen, bbq, games, books, tons of space, pool table, huge tubs, tv, and it is within minutes of local attractions, Wegmans, and downtown Ithaca. There are a lot of stairs to get to the house and to the lake, but we were fine even with a 10 month old and a 2.5 year old. The only problem we had is that we did not stay long enough!!!

Recommended for: adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Great House, Location, and Vacation

We stayed at the house from June 11th - June 15th with our 2 young children and their grandfather.

The house is situated directly on Cayuga Lake with a beautiful view of the lake and Cornell Campus. The house was ideally located for our family with a 7-8 minute drive to the Cornell Campus, the Commons, nearby Cass Park (playground and pool - not yet opened when we were there), approx. 15 miles from the closest Cayuga Lake Winery, 8 miles from Taughannack Falls, 4 miles from Buttermilk Falls, and very close to a well equipped gym and Wegmans.

The house itself was very clean and spacious with 3 comfortable bedrooms, a large well equipped kitchen, huge living room with a pool table and flat screen TV (blueray and wifi), and multiple bathrooms with large tubs. Each bedroom had an AC unit. There were so many decks with great views and the backyard had a fantastic fire pit, hammock, and huge dock (2 picnic tables). We spent a lot of time jumping/swimming in the lake (a little on the cold side), lounging out, eating lunch, roasting marshmallows, and just enjoying the beauty of Cayuga Lake.

There were a lot of stairs to get to the house from the road and also to get to the backyard/lake, but we had no issues even with little kids (people who have trouble walking would have an issue).

We really loved the house and location and are already planning our trip for next summer.

Recommended for: families with young children, families with teenagers, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Location, Amenities & More!

In all honesty, upon arriving at this house for a recent weekend getaway, my friends and I spent our first 20 minutes marveling at all the amenities it offered.

The main floor features three separate bedrooms and three full bathrooms - an ideal arrangement that allowed for everyone in our party to have their own private space. Downstairs contains a pool table and flat-screen HDTV, which both offered hours of entertainment.

The outside of the house is enveloped by an elaborate system of decks (the pictures truly don't do it justice) which leads down to the backyard, located directly on Cayuga Lake. Most of our time was spent outdoors in the backyard, which features a fire pit and hammock, or on the dock, where two picnic tables allowed us to enjoy our meals directly on the water.

When it came time to stock up on supplies, we were able to get from the house, into downtown Ithaca to do our shopping and back in well under an hour - a unique feat that can't be accomplished at most lakeside homes.

Of course, I would be remiss if I failed to mention that the house and surrounding property were spotless and the owner was extremely easy to work with. I'm happy to give a glowing review and recommendation of this house, and will definitely be keeping it in mind for myself when planning future getaways.
