Vacation Rental Description
Hawks Nest Resort is a young Native American-owned company,
specializing in building log homes near Lake Kegonsa, Wisconsin,
less than 15 minutes from the capital city of Madison.
Our featured home (pictured)with fireplace is a beautifully spacious
three-bedroom wrap around deck ,central air conditioning a
log retreat that is truly perfect for families of three or more on
the go. This property is also an exclusive treasure for groups of
up to 8-9 people looking to get away from it all! Next door is our
featured two-bedroom, two-bathroom log home with a wrap-around deck
and hot tub, fireplace. That home sleeps 6-7 people. In addition,
our two-
bedroom cottage is currently being renovated and now has a new
sunroom. The cottage sleeps four guests and will be available in
Fall of 2008.
Our guests enjoy the close proximity to an abundance of outdoor
recreation within the log homes' aesthetic surroundings. The
property is nestled adjacent to state-owned land that offers calming
walks through the woods and room for family gatherings around a
bonfire. Firewood is available for purchase at $12.00 a bundle and
must be paid in cash only at the time of check-in. A list of
resources is provided to our guests of nearby facilities and rental
companies. While fine dining and lake access can be found within
100 yards of your front door, the property offers the seclusion
necessary for a day, a weekend or a full week of wooded privacy
amongst its natural surroundings.
Vacation Rental Amenities
Enjoy Springers, a lakefront restaurant and bar on Lake Kegonsa,
which has fabulous food and drinks. This is a beautiful setting,
perfect for a get together in a beautiful log home. A time to sit
in a hot tub and relax or enjoy a glass of wine while sitting in
front of a cozy stone fireplace. Grills are provided (must supply
your own propane). Gorgeous view of the wildlife and wooded area,
walking distance to lake, boating, best fishing, golfing, swimming,
hiking trails, snowmobiling, hunting, shopping,antiques, biking,
cross country sking, bon-fires.

Activities and Attractions
Stoughton has great winter recreational options. Stoughton's Mandt
Community Center offers indoor ice skating and skate rentals. Lake
Kegonsa offers great ice fishing and area snowmobile trails connect
with hundreds of miles of trails throughout the region. Lake Kegonsa
Kegonsa State Park has some of the best cross-country skiing trails
in the area. Don't miss the Candlelight Ski, an event that happens
on the second weekend in January and February.
Winter is a wonderful time to visit the Midwest's most beautiful
small town, Stoughton, Wisconsin. Stoughton's historic downtown
offers fabulous shopping with specialty stores with art, jewelry,
antiques, home décor, clothing and collectibles. Enjoy great
restaurants, including cozy diners, excellent supper clubs and our
new and unique restaurant with singing servers!
Vacation Rental Rates
Our Base Weekly Rates are set for full capacity depending on the log
home that you choose and according to how many people are in your
party. We offer winter discounts (10%) from December through April
(excluding holidays). Our weekend rates are set per person for a
two-day stay. We also offer last-minute discounts if home is still
open on our link of availability on our site. We offer group
discounts if you book a year in advanced or book another date before
you leave for the following year.
Rates are set from a range as low as 39.00 per person per night for
parties of 8-9 or $65.00 per person per night for parties of 4-6
