activities and attractions in Lake Cumberland Kentucky
Is there anything to do off the water in the Lake Cumberland area? You bet! See Civil War re-enactments, and visit the museum and battle sites. Be here the last weekend of the month April thru October for the SomerNites Cruise showcasing hot-rods and just some real cool cars. Go to the 27Twin Drive-in and watch the double-feature. If lake water is a little tame for the risk-seekers, head over to Sheltowee Trace Outfitters for guided rafting tours of the Cumberland River, and Cumberland Falls. Hike to the Natural Bridge, get a bird's eye view of Devil's Jump on the Big South Fork, or catch the Scenic Railway in Stearns. Hold tight to the little ones in the wave pool at the SomerSplash Water Park, or just push 'em down the huge water slides. Either way they'll love it. Shop local antique malls, see our flea markets, play golf, ride horses, and go fishing and boating. Canoeing/kayaking on Rockcastle River, a KY Wild River. Come back to the Cabin walk to Buck Creek and toss a line in the water where bass, stripers and crappie abound!
