A large family gathering of 9, spanning 3 generations, spent 5 days at Willowbend. The property was as described in terms of amenities, and was clean and very comfortable for our large group. The bedrooms were spacious and well appointed, and having 4 bathrooms was a real help. Another real plus for us was being within walking distance of the golf club and swimming pool and also being able to walk the baby in the stroller around the neighborhood. Except for the last night's dinner at La Strada in Lake Lure (highly recommended), we ate our meals at the house. The kitchen was well equipped, but the distribution of items among the cabinets was confusing, so it took a while to figure out where or if certain items were provided. The owner was very personable and helpful in answering my questions about the house and the amenities at Rumbling Bald Resort (about 2.5 miles from the house). We would recommend this property to other families, especially those with young children, since the pool is so close and was generally not crowded at all when we were there.

Fabulous!!

This house was fabulous! It was well maintained & clean!
The kitchen was well equipped and easily handled all of our meals for 10 people. The sleeping arrangements were perfect. The bedding/sheets were high quality (not scratchy "hotel" sheets!) We spent almost every evening sitting outside on the covered porch and/or around the fire pit which was an added plus. The children loved the ping pong table & dart board. The views of the mountains were beautiful! The huge grocery store is a short drive as well as Chimney Rock for hiking! Carol as great & made sure we had everything we needed. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great house with lots of room & lots to do.
