Magnificent stone and cedar home built in 1918 and lovingly renovated over the last twenty years. Historic feel of the days of boarding houses, timbering hemlocks and quarrying for bluestone. All the stone in the home comes from the creek across the road! Walnut log posts and hemlock beams have been constructed to create an open floorplan. Central stone double fireplace (two sided), with a woodstove. Adjacent to the kitchen is a sunroom - which is a perfect breakfast room, with picture window views of the forest and the base of the mountain behind the house. We have seen wild turkeys and deer through this view numerous times. The home has a grand bluestone porch that is wonderful for hanging out in the hammock or on the hanging swing style loveseat. Sounds of the mountain creek and nature all around. The road has a state campground at the end 3 miles away with hiking trails to the surrounding summits with views of the NYC reservoir and the Hudson river. Or a 4 mile drive or bicycle ride into town where you can find one of the best breakfasts you'll ever have at Sweet Sue's or rent a DVD at the video store or get ice cream, etc. 
House is perfect for three couples or an extended family or friends. Perfect place for families to gather, in a very quiet setting. We provide firewood for the cool nights, a high speed internet connection, digital cable tv, stereo with CD player, washer-dryer, BBQ on the porch and a Japanese style soaking tub. If you are looking for a unique mission style and timeless getaway home that reminds one of the peacefulness and times of a century ago, this is your place.
