traveler reviews for this burnsville cabin rental

Awesome views and location!

Review submitted: July 30, 2011   Date of arrival: June 4, 2011

This rental unit exceeded our greatest expectations. You won't find a better rental for this price! How my husband and I loved to awaken every morning to (indeed) that "million dollar view" of the mountains, right from the bed, as well as watch the hummingbirds dart in and out of the feeder also in view. The unit was fully stocked and even had extra nice surprises like a set of golf clubs and walking/hiking sticks! The satellite TV, Central A/C, and free WI-FI was truly a blessing! The heated pool and pool table was also great fun, and never populated. Staff was friendly and helpful. The furniture was a bit worn but the bed was clean and comfortable. Plenty of linens, bath towels, and paper goods on hand. Well-stocked kitchen.
The best part was the location. We love hiking mountain trails and photographing waterfalls. Our unit contained a notebook with lots of helpful information, including trail maps (imagine that!), and we were only 3 miles from my beloved BlueRidge Parkway. A little to the North is Crabtree Falls. To the South is Mt. Mitchell and Craggy Gardens. You can even hike up the Mt. Mitchell Trail right from behind the clubhouse. We were charmed by the chipmunks and rabbits in the area (and one deer :). It doesn't get any better than this, folks!

Recommended for: adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway
