Emerald Forest Bungalows is an enchanted location tucked away in Ellenville, New York.  Grandma and Grandpa could tell you a story or two about the old school cottages.  This season we are unveiling our brand new chalet style cabins.  We have two of these cabins, the Owl's Nest and the White Pine, so check in for what's available.  A big hit for those families who travel in pairs.  These units were designed to blend perfectly with our forested landscape.  Ellenville is just a 2 hour drive NW of NYC, and just over the hill from Sam's Point Preserve.

We like to think of Emerald Forest Bungalows as a sort of Walden Pond meets Dirty Dancing.  Emerald Forest Bungalows is a green community and tries to accommodate like clients.  At 1100 feet, the air is always fresh.  Here in the foothills of the Catskills, pine trees dominate the landscape.  A pond stocked with bass, a friendly bullfrog, and our saltwater pool welcome you.  Take the edge off summer in the city kickback and relax.  Our grandparents remember spending summers at Catskill resorts, singing in variety shows, telling corny borscht belt jokes.  That era is behind us, though Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey won’t let us put that memory in the corner, Baby.

Winter in the Mountains:  Come visit the Emerald Forest this season.  Enjoy the nip of freshness in the air.  Recreational and cultural opportunities abound.  There is cross country skiing on many nearby hiking trails, as well as sledding and hot chocolate.  We can have a private yoga teacher or massage therapist visit your bungalow for some deep relaxation.  Take some time to cook in your beautiful bungalow kitchen.  We can cook for you or you can enjoy the local restaurants and eateries.    Bring your ice skates for the winter season and do some figure eights on our 2 acre pond.  Snow shoeing can be enjoyed right here on the Emerald Forest's 75 acres.  If you are hardy you can even ice fish for pickerel and large mouth bass.  Snow shoeing can be enjoyed right here on the Emerald Forest's 75 acres.  So come and enjoy the pines with snow on their branches.

Three nature preserves within half hour drive, world class rock climbing at the Gunks, pick-your-own farms, swimming & fishing on site, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts (original site of the 1969 Woodstock concert).  Horseback riding.
