vacation rental description

A romantic get away or a fishermans paradise, you can have it both
ways here. As the moon rises over the ocean you can take your
special someone for a walk on the 890 foot private pier. Just sit
and watch the waves roll in while you enjoy each other, or grab the
fishing pole and come try your luck with the great fishing.
You can sit on your balcony, in this 5th floor unit, and watch the
sun rise over the ocean. You can see for long distances up and down
the beach and see the dolphins at play or the shrimp boats going out
for the day. Very few people are on the beach, sometimes there's no
one for as far as you look both ways.(This can be anytime of day.)
The family at the beach, pool or pier, just walk out on the balcony
and you have them all in view. Maybe they are at the tennis court,
that's out the front door.
The master bedroom has a king size bed and is on the ocean side so
at night you can raise the windows and let the ocean lull you to
sleep. The great room has sliding glass doors to the balcony. The
sofa & love seat both let out into beds. HBO is available on the
36" TV & the TV in the master bedroom. The 2nd bedroom has a queen
size bed and a twin bed. The sofa & love seat turn into a queen &
twin bed.
When you go down to the beach be sure to take something to put the
sharks teeth in, yes I said sharks teeth. On Amelia Island they
dredge the St. Marys River and it releases fossils & sharks teeth
that are distributed down the beach. One of my favorite pastimes
(as well as many other islanders) is looking for teeth & fossils.
It's a lot of fun once you get the hang of it. Or you can drive down
to the end of the beach and go horse back riding on the beach.
Tired of the beach, the historic downtown area is awesome. Great
shopping, restraunts, boat rides, trips to Cumberland Island, tours,
gambling boats, Charter fishing boats, and so much more. Or bring
your own boat they have space at the marina. The Jacksonville Flea
Market is open on the weekends. And don't forget GOLF. There are
several challenging golf courses on Amelia Island with all the
courses just minutes away. Walk across the street to restraunts and
shopping. Or grill out here for dinner or for your tailgate party
for the Georgia Flordia football game.
The kitchen & greatroom were recently remodled with new custom
cabinets, marble counter tops, all new appliances, ceramic tile
floors and everything updated. Washer and dryer are in the unit.
Everything is there to make your stay confortble and relaxing.
Once you go to the condo on Amelia and enjoy the quite, laid back
feeling of the island you'll want to come back again and again.

Once again we have really enjoyed our stay at this unit. The fishing is great and everything you want to do is close by. This unit is well maintained and I would suggest anyone that wants a nice vacation to keep this unit in mind. We had a great time and very comfortable place. Thanks for letting us share your condo. Ready to come back again next year!

Wow - Great View!

What a great condo. Very roomy, very clean, well furnished, easy access to the beach, and very reasonable price for the amenities. Plenty of secured parking and easy to get in and out. Very quiet with the great sleeping sounds of the Atlantic Ocean.

Great resturants near by and a short drive to shopping.

Great location, good condo

Lisa H (Florida)
Review submitted: May 17, 2012   Date of arrival: April 29, 2012

The condo was clean and well-appointed. The units themselves show a little age and could be updated in some places, but this owner has made the effort to keep things up. The kitchen had anything we could have needed (except a rubber spatula- definitely a recommended addition!). The balcony furniture was one of the nicest we saw in all the units, and very comfortable. For us, having two beds in the second room was really a plus. Condo location couldn't have been better. The boardwalk and pier are really convenient and the pool was always clean and quiet. This was the only pier we could see from the beach, so that is a nice plus for this property. The pier was also just recently redone and very nice.
The one negative comment is on the property management, who did a very poor job of providing check-in/out services. We were not told anything about how to check-in except seeing on the web site that check-in was after 4 but before 5pm. We arrived to find that the office was closed all day because it was a Sunday, so we called the number on the door and were told to drive down the road to the real estate office. That was also closed so we called back and were durected to a key box at the RE office which did not contain our keys. While waiting for someone to call us back we drove back to the condo and found a key box there with our keys. It would seem a basic thing that we should have been directed to the key box ahead of time since they knew we were checking in on a Sunday. We had rushed and stressed to make it by 5pm when we really could have arrived anytime. Also, there was no information as to how to check out. The office was locked up at 10am on the weekday when we left, do we just dropped the keys back in the box where we found them and hoped that was correct. Lastly, a cleaning woman showed up one day during our stay because she said she had been told we checked out that day. No big deal, but another example of management's disorganization.
All in all we had a great time and will absolutely be back.
