quick facts

vacation rental description

A romantic get away or a fishermans paradise, you can have it both
ways here. As the moon rises over the ocean you can take your
special someone for a walk on the 890 foot private pier. Just sit
and watch the waves roll in while you enjoy each other, or grab the
fishing pole and come try your luck with the great fishing.
You can sit on your balcony, in this 5th floor unit, and watch the
sun rise over the ocean. You can see for long distances up and down
the beach and see the dolphins at play or the shrimp boats going out
for the day. Very few people are on the beach, sometimes there's no
one for as far as you look both ways.(This can be anytime of day.)
The family at the beach, pool or pier, just walk out on the balcony
and you have them all in view. Maybe they are at the tennis court,
that's out the front door.
The master bedroom has a king size bed and is on the ocean side so
at night you can raise the windows and let the ocean lull you to
sleep. The great room has sliding glass doors to the balcony. The
sofa & love seat both let out into beds. HBO is available on the
36" TV & the TV in the master bedroom. The 2nd bedroom has a queen
size bed and a twin bed. The sofa & love seat turn into a queen &
twin bed.
When you go down to the beach be sure to take something to put the
sharks teeth in, yes I said sharks teeth. On Amelia Island they
dredge the St. Marys River and it releases fossils & sharks teeth
that are distributed down the beach. One of my favorite pastimes
(as well as many other islanders) is looking for teeth & fossils.
It's a lot of fun once you get the hang of it. Or you can drive down
to the end of the beach and go horse back riding on the beach.
Tired of the beach, the historic downtown area is awesome. Great
shopping, restraunts, boat rides, trips to Cumberland Island, tours,
gambling boats, Charter fishing boats, and so much more. Or bring
your own boat they have space at the marina. The Jacksonville Flea
Market is open on the weekends. And don't forget GOLF. There are
several challenging golf courses on Amelia Island with all the
courses just minutes away. Walk across the street to restraunts and
shopping. Or grill out here for dinner or for your tailgate party
for the Georgia Flordia football game.
The kitchen & greatroom were recently remodled with new custom
cabinets, marble counter tops, all new appliances, ceramic tile
floors and everything updated. Washer and dryer are in the unit.
Everything is there to make your stay confortble and relaxing.
Once you go to the condo on Amelia and enjoy the quite, laid back
feeling of the island you'll want to come back again and again.

Great place to stay

Goodfive (Jacksonville, FL)
Review submitted: November 30, 2011   Date of arrival: November 23, 2011

Have stayed at Amelia By the Sea many times and this is one of the best units there. Kitchen has been nicely remodeled and owner has thoughtfully furnished condo with all you would need for a relaxing vacation. The private pier is a great bonus for fishing and just watching the amazing sunrise each day. Highly recommend this condo!

This unit is great. I am a Amelia Island resident and have stayed here at Amelia By The Sea several times in the pasted three years. Miss DJ's unit is the best I have stayed in. She has all the comforts of home and a spectacular view. Thanks Miss DJ for the great stay and working with me.

We had a ball! The fishing was awsome!

Tom (Madison, Georgia)
Review submitted: September 7, 2010   Date of arrival: August 21, 2010

"This was our best trip ever! We had so much fun and the condo was wonderful as always. This year the fish were biting & the guys had a ball. Whiting and mackrel were dinner one night and we caught enough to take some home. We have been coming to this condo for the past 8 years and if we get a chance we come twice a year. It is decorated nice, the kitchen has everything you need and since it's been remodeled it can now hold me and my family while I cook and they clean up the fish, it's got a washer/dryer, very comfortable beds, it's clean and set up for a family. The view from the balcony lets us keep up with everyone on the beach, at the pool and on the pier and the sunrise is always worth getting up for. While we were here we had quality time together and got some R&R too. The island is the best. We are already looking forward to coming back in the spring, maybe just the two of us.
