This gracious, beautifully refurbished house sits on beach immediately
adjacent to the city park and
city beach. The privately owned beach in front of the house is part
of the property. This central
location makes for easy walking access to all of the downtown
amenities, including the famous Coeur
d'Alene Resort. Museums, lake cruises, nature trails, picnic areas,
playgrounds, downtown shops,
side walk cafes, world-famous Hudson's Hamburgers and up-scale bistros
and restaraunts are all
close. The start of the Coeur d'Alene Ironman Triathalon is located
just across the street, so aerial
views of the start (which can be seen on the Internet) give a nice
perspective of our location.
Three of the five bedrooms have wonderful views overlooking the lake
and the main floor has two lake-
view parlors as well as two lake-view sun rooms. The third floor
master suite needs to be seen to be
believed. A cozy family room with home theater system is located
adjacent to the kitchen and
breakfast nook, while the basement is equipped with an ample game room
to keep the kids (young and
old) occupied. A side entrance gives access to a designated change
room and shower for athletes or
swimmers.
The Gumprecht House is located on property once occupied by Fort
Sherman, established in 1878 to
protect settlers. When the Fort was disbanded and the property
auctioned off and platted, the result
was the historic Fort Grounds neighborhood. Our house was built in
1907 on the pick of the
waterfront lots as the first private beach house and, consequently,
commands an unsurpassed view of
beautiful Lake Coeur d'Alene. No other rental in the area is comparable.

dishes, card and board games as well as books far all ages, cd's,
dvd's, grassy picnic area on the
beach with a retaining wall and sand beach below.
Please check out the website for the Coeur d'Alene visitors bureau as
well as the Coeur d'Alene
Resort. Remember that the city park is less than a block away, the
downtown is 2 blocks, and the
Resort only 3 blocks. The community college is two blocks the other
direction. In contrast to the
descriptions for other rentals, the distances mentioned are no
exaggeration and the house is not
near the beach or close to the beach, it is on the beach and the beach
is part of the property right
down to the water line.
