Sunset Cottage - Come and enjoy this older but charming oceanfront cottage that has a view to die for!!  2 traditional bedrooms (1 KG & 1 QN), 1 oceanfront sleeping room with king bed (no closet), and loft area with 2 twin beds.  Fully equipped kitchen, livingroom has gas fireplace, deck has a HUGE Hot Tub overlooking the beach, waves, & sunsets!!

You can check availability, rates, & reserve online if you "Google" Starfish Manor Hotel in Lincoln City,Oregon and go to that website.  It is another one of properties.  They wont let us put our website on here as it has multiple properties on it - even though we own them all so we don't compete with this site and advertise all our places on here. LOL

We stayed at Sunset Cottage from 9/21 to 9/28/2011. There was no dish soap, no extra garbage bags, TV remotes with no batteries & one with no battery cover, so the batteries kept slipping out. We reported things like the missing remote cover, the staff promised to give us a new remote, but never kept the promises. Dining chairs were filthy, we had to buy Lysol cleaner & clean them before we could use them. Sunroom chairs, likewise, had to be cleaned before we could use them. No pot holders in the kitchen. Only 1 bathroom & shower was the smallest I've ever seen & awkward & fairly unsafe for anyone not completely young & fit to use. Also we were shocked to find a big list of secret "rules", unknown prior to renting. Many of these secret "rules" threaten a $100/day fine for violations. So, Lincoln City is a great place to visit. The view from Sunset Cottage is really nice. But they should be better at cleaning, stocking, and be more customer friendly. Also, no outdoor grill either. So, Be Careful before renting. The listing description leaves out that they have secret "rules" that could be a problem, including vehicle & parking limitations. It is careful to not list a grill or even the number of bathrooms. So, it is misleading by omitting. Also the driveway is very narrow & very steep with a pretty big bump or two. A car that sits low will drag on it.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, sight seeing

My parents, brother and cousins (8 total) all stayed in the Sunset Cottage for 3 nights and had a wonderful time! Dad's in a wheelchair, so access was very important. Once we got into the place, (gravel made it a bit challenging) the doorways and rooms were perfect for someone in a chair. There seemed to be plenty of room for all 8 adults. The rooms upstairs were comfy and the two rooms downstairs met our needs very well. Beds were a bit hard, but there's never a bed that feels as good as your own....We enjoyed the fireplace and the hot tub as well as the AMAZING view from the 'sun' room. We arrived the day of the tsunami warnings and were afraid we wouldn't be able to stay due to the evacuation....that didn't happen, thank goodness! We were able to enjoy watching the waves from our toasty warm home. The kitchen is very good sized, the front room and sun room being connected allowed us to be together, but not crowded, which made our stay that much more enjoyable. This is an older home (built in the 40's), but they have remodeled the inside, wood floors and a calming green interior. Since it is an older home, you will notice that older home, musty smell. I noticed it when we first came in, but didn't notice it after that. Even with 8 of us, being there is only one bathroom, waiting for the bathroom wasn't really that much of an issue. We were provided with plenty of towels (both for the shower and the hot tub) and all the appliances worked great, dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, toaster and fridge. The fridge is full sized by the way...plenty of room for left-overs or food to make yourself. I will definitely suggest this to anyone who wants all the amenities this rental offers....definitely worth it!

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing
