What a perfect time of year for that last vacation before winter blahs set in!

Summer may be fading, but now is a great time to enjoy the many wonderful activities of Fall!    Enjoy bike rides on Gwynn's Island, kayaking the multitudes of trails along Mathews County's waters, and, of course, golfing at the great Piankatank Golf course....one of the best courses around!  Sunrise is located at the mouth of the Piankatank River overlooking the Chesapeake Bay, so the view is always breathtaking.  If you're an early riser,  experience a magnificent sunrise while enjoying your morning coffee in the front family room.  You may even catch a glimpse of the Bald Eagle and Heron while they are gathering their meals.  The beach is within steps of the front door.  Fishing is still an option and you can launch your boat from one of the public boat launches nearby.  One is located just a few miles away at Gwynn's Island.  If you love kayaking and biking, Mathews County is the place to be.

Sandy Beach; swimming; water activities are unlimited, bring your own water toys. 

Piankatank Golf Course

Shop for art or antiques in Mathews, Urbana, or Kilmarnock.  Take side trips to Mathews, Yorktown, or Gloucester which are 30 minutes to an hour away.  Or, take a day trip to Williamsburg (about 42 miles) or Virginia Beach (about 80 miles).  The Town of Mathews has many little shops and restaurants and places of interest, including a wonderful Visitor's Information Center where you can obtain a wealth of information on fun things to do.  There are many options for your dining pleasure.  Neighboring Gloucester has a bowling alley and movie theater, as well as a larger cinema on the way to Yorktown if you have a rainey day or want a change of scenery.

Mathews County has a multitude of activities and attractions.  Check out Donk's Theater for shows and local bingo at the American Legion.    For your convenience we have provided a vacation rental notebook listing information on restaurants, historical sites, kayaking, marinas, grocery stores, doctors and hospitals, etc.  It can be found on the coffee table in the front room.

Weekly rate of $850 payable two weeks in advance of rental.

A $200 security deposit is required and will be refunded upon satisfactory inspection to rental property.
