Incredible lake and ski slope views from Castle Glen Estate! in Big Bear Lake

Wonderful House

"My family and I (a group of eight) just returned home after the Most Wonderful vacation in Big Bear Lake. The house was Absolutely Perfect. It was set in the mountains with a Breathtaking view of the surrounding forest. The bedrooms were large and well appointed with plenty of room (and bathrooms) for everyone. There were three bedrooms on the first floor; two with queen size beds and one with two bunk beds and another queen size bed. There were also two full bathrooms on the first floor. The second floor housed the master bedroom and bath. The rest of the living space was also on the second floor, including a beautiful kitchen, a spacious dining room with a great table that sat our whole group easily, enormous family room (complete with giant flat screen tv, fireplace, comfortable seating for everyone, and a pool table), and a half bathroom. There was also a deck off the dining / family room with plenty of chairs and a Fabulous hot tub. In addition to the pool table in the family room, there was a foosball table in the bunk bed room and a ping pong table in the garage. The house was clean and new and decorated in perfect keeping with the woodsy environment.

There was plenty to do in the area - all we had to do was step outside to take an easy hike through the Incredible mountains, and it was a ten minute, Lovely car ride down the winding mountain to the activity centered lake side of town. Unfortunately, we were in Big Bear Lake between the main winter and summer seasons, so the activities were limited during the week. The tours (boat tours, zip line tours) can be arranged in the middle of the week only if there are enough customers to make up a full tour. While we were not able to schedule either our boat or zip line tour, we had a great time at the alpine slide, the lake was Spectacular just to walk around, and we found many Wonderful restaurants (Big Bear Mountain Brewery, B's Backyard Barbeque, Nottingham's) to enjoy. We did not get to the village but that also looked like a place worth exploring. We did not mind that we could not schedule everything we had planned because it was a Pleasure to just hang out with each other in our Fantastic home away from home!!

The owner of this house, Kevin Cobb, also works for the rental company Five Star Vacation Rentals. He and the whole staff were friendly and very accomodating in helping me plan this memorable family vacation. What a Treat!!
