Public beach approximately one mile from unit.  Bike trail runs adjacent to property.  Golf.  Convenient thirty minute drive from Mobile.  Ferry to Gulf Shores and shopping outlets.  Other activities on island include Bird Sanctuary and wildlife refuge, Sea Lab/Estuarium, Fort Gaines civil war museum, charter boat fishing, Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo (July) and many other fishing tournaments.  Enjoy shelling, boating, kayaking, skiing, swimming, etc.  Great restaurants, gift shops, lending library, video store, etc.
