vacation rental description
Comfort awaits you at Rose Court Cottage, a proud member of Arcata Stay Lodging Network (Google Arcata Stay to view more information and
our own Availability Calendar), a delightful retreat in the historic
heart of town, four blocks from Arcata Plaza and Humboldt State
University. Our ideal location allows guests to leave their vehicle
and stroll to shops, restaurants, movies, the Marsh Wildlife
Sanctuary, or Redwood Park trails.
Rose Court Cottage is a cozy haven, private, quiet, and romantic.
Our guests may indulge in exquisite attention to detail: arts and
crafts era design elements combined with sumptuous furnishings and
linens, and a multitude of thoughtful amenities. French doors open into a welcoming suite with decor which blends Craftsman ambiance with country French charm.
The interior is appointed in a rich motif enhanced by wood trim, multi-light windows, masterful painting and stenciling, and California impressionist
landscapes. The smoke-free cottage has a dining/living area, sleeping area
with antique queen bed, nightstands with reading lamps and mirrored
entertainment armoire, a fully outfitted kitchenette, and a private
bath with tiled shower and European 75-jet sunflower shower head.
Tucked away from the street, the brick courtyard cottage entrance
is a lovely outdoor space with a patio seating area, fountain, and
fragrant roses and jasmine blooming abundantly.
Hostess Christy Laird ensures that her guests enjoy a special
breakfast experience. Start the day with a full gourmet meal,
tailored to dietary preferences, delivered to the cottage on a tray
with the newspaper.
Adjacent to Rose Court Cottage, the owners' Tudor Revival residence
is notable in Arcata for its charm and landscape design in English
cottage garden style.
They were featured on Home and Garden Television's Old Homes Restored
program in 2002, have been a garden tour favorite of the Humboldt
Botanical Garden Society on three occasions since 1997, and were on
the Historical Sites Society of Arcata Home Tour in 2008.
Whether you are here on vacation or business, are a visiting academic
or parent of an HSU student, or are simply passing through, we are
certain that our knowledge of the area, as well as our attention and
service, will enhance your travel experience to Arcata.
