Great location near Lake Pend Oreille in N Idaho

This is a modest apartment in Bayview, Idaho, several blocks from Lake Pend Oreille. We stayed in the downstairs unit. Linda, the owner, was very gracious, and accommodated us during a difficult family tragedy (a funeral service near Sandpoint). The apartment was clean, and the location was quiet. You can see the lake from the front windows, and the sunrise was spectacular.
The bathroom was great--spacious with a jetted tub (which we didn't use). It could also use a hook near the shower to hang a towel on. The main room, a combined kitchen/dining/living room was adequate. Several items were lacking, though. The only cooking appliance is an antique gas stove/oven, which is intimidating to someone not familiar with it (am I going to blow the place up if I try to use it?!). It would have been nice to have a way to at least heat water for tea, etc. Also, there were no Kleenex provided.
The two bedrooms are rather small, and one of them has an exposed aggregate floor which is both cold and painful to walk on with bare feet. Slippers are recommended.
The water heater is an "on-demand" type, and is located in one of the two bedrooms. When one person is trying to sleep in that bedroom, and others are running the hot water, the noise is remarkably loud in the bedroom. A large fan was provided, presumably for cooling and for background noise when sleeping, but even on the low setting it sounded like a jet engine--far too loud for sleeping.
Overall, I would recommend this apartment with the above qualifications. There is a nice front porch with seating, tables, and a view of the lake. Very peaceful and beautiful.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, tourists without a car
