Free Wifi, Laundry, Large Sundeck, Sleeps 5+: WiFi is included free with the rental. Laundry facilities (as well as additional on-shore bathrooms and showers) are conveniently located right at the marina. Also right in the marina is the Tavern on the Water, a restaurant and bar with a great view of the Boston Skyline, and on-shore grilling and picnic facilities. It is fully air-conditioned and heated. An Aero-bed offers additional sleeping options, as does the living room sleep sofa. There’s tons of outdoor sunning area: a front and back porch with a gas grill and a large roof sun deck. All sheets and towels are provided. The boat is large enough to comfortably accommodate up to four adults or 2 adults with a few children. This unusual craft comes complete with a private stateroom with a queen-sized bed, a full bath with shower, plenty of closet space, a full-size eat-in kitchen with standard size fridge, stove and oven, microwave, and all the needed utensils and cookware.

Water taxi right to Houseboat: We provide an iron, ironing board, hairdryer, and loads of bathroom products such as soaps, shampoos, and lotions. If you are arriving by car, you will find a parking garage 2 blocks away that charges $18/day. You then will have the choice of using your own car for excursions away from downtown or availing yourself of the water shuttle or free bus service for local destinations.

traveler reviews for this boston houseboat rental

Well taken care of

Singerlute (Woodstock, NY, USA)
Review submitted: April 20, 2013   Date of arrival: April 14, 2013

We booked a stay on one of the boats Ryan manages for our stay in Boston. The night before we were to arrive, Ryan called to say they had a problem on that boat - a careless city-bred customer did not follow the "only toilet paper" rule and stuffed the toilets - and we could not stay there. Ryan offered us a 4* hotel stay in the harbor, or 1 night at the hotel and 3 nights at another boat. We accepted the latter as we do NOT like hotels (which is why we work with vacation rentals in the first place!). The hotel was fine and Ryan took care of valet parking for our car and the next day we transferred to another boat that another couple manages. Our stay there was superb and we have reviewed that wonderful boat and the couple who manages it on another site. We are writing here to say that Ryan made every effort to make our stay everything we wished it could be and we are very grateful. You can trust that you will be well taken care of, whatever happens. We had a wonderful boat-stay and would recommend utilizing houseboats and yachts for your vacations in harbor cities.

We had such a fabulous time on board Orion! We actually booked two boats for our family to stay on. This one as well as the larger boat the White Elephant. Even though the weather was still a bit chilly we enjoyed our time lounging on the roof deck while the sun was out. The boat itself is a little bit older but has a lot of charm and was spacious enough for our family of four. I loved that we had our own kitchen to cook and eat in. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to stay in downtown Boston.

Stayed 9/12-15th. What a great way to "see" Boston. Easy to get to once you figure out how (free MGH/Partners bus in front of the 24 hour convenience store) that goes to North Station. My daughter found this gem and I have to admit I was hesitant. But, would go back in a minute. Did not have two bedrooms but one bedroom and a pull-out in the living area. But that was OK. Have to get use to small bathroom facilities.

Very nice experience. We stayed 8/22-29/2008 and enjoyed ourselves. It was much better than a hotel room (same in every city) and once we learned to use public transportation we could get anywhere we wanted to. Keeping in mind that it is a old houseboat, they have done everything to make the stay comfortable and fun. Would do it again.

This must be what an infant feels like. Every now and then someone comes along and rocks your cradle ever so gently just to make you feel safe. Usually, on vacation, you can't wait to get out and get going. On the Float!, you just want to take your coffee outside and enjoy what God gave you...the sun, the sky and the water. Thank God we know Boston well, because we wanted to stay on board as long as we could in the morning doing just that. A minor mishap occurred because of a previous renter, but it did absolutely nothing to hurt our stay. It is spacious enough, clean, comfortable and delightful. I don't sail, so don't let that stop you from experiencing the houseboat. It's so gentle, you hardly notice the sway, and at night, when you're in bed, it's downright comforting. We had a wonderful 44th Anniversary on board and hope to celebrate our 45th there as well.
