vacation rental description

Arcadia Coves is the 2nd oldest settlement left on Lake Taneycomo by Branson. It has original log cabins, one of the only Bald Eagle nesting grounds in Southern Missouri, and is on one of the tallest points in elevation in MO. Tourists on vacation enjoy Branson kayak tours and canoe tours and guided history tours through Baldknobber and Al Capone hideouts. You can still see settlers ax marks in some of the logs and each cabin is unique. It has a scenic overview of the Ozark hills, fishing docks, and hiking trails.

Pleasant and relaxing!

Review submitted: July 18, 2014   Date of arrival: July 11, 2014

Beautiful views, helpful staff and very relaxing. Plenty to do and see. A lot of history at the lodge and beautiful flowers.
We had breakfast on the deck and even saw a deer swim across the lake. I want to spend time there again. Many thanks Ben for the joy you have brought to my life in the beautiful views at Arcadia Coves .

What an awesome place for adventure, relaxation, fun and fellowship.

Review submitted: July 17, 2014   Date of arrival: July 11, 2014

The place was awesome. As a photographer the shots of wildlife and nature were around every turn. If you are seeking relaxation this place will take the stress right out of you. There is so much to see and do, when we had to go into Branson we rushed back to get back to the serenity of Arcadia Coves.
Ben made us feel like we were family and the staff's goal was simply YOUR WISH IS OUR COMMAND. Everything was clean and neat, but keep in mind this is rustic adventure not four walls in a motel room. Remember your are out by the lake and in the beautiful settings of the woods not a concrete parking lot where you hear every move your neighbor makes. This is peace and quiet and spending time throwing out that fishing line on their personal dock seeing the sun set and hearing the frog crock made me feel like there was not a care in the world. My thoughts were not about all the things on my to do list but how awesome God had made this place.
My one regret is that I did not spend enough time reading about the history of Arcadia Coves at the lodge. You must remember this historical hunting and fishing lodge is being restored with love from their hearts and alot of sweat equity so that we can enjoy the character and charm of days gone by.
In closing let me state no business big or small, unknow or well advertised can do anything about and Act of God. These people had no control over what happened to knock the cable, water, electricity or whatever out. How would you feel if your new flat panel tv was ruined due to the power surge beyond what your surge protector could handle--well then multiply that by 10 or 12 tv's that Arcadia Coves lost. We did not have cable, but they brought in another tv and offered to rent us new releases, but heck who needs a tv when there is so much adventure to be had here.
When all is said and done all I can say is I can hardly wait to visit again. And I salute you for the wonderful efforts you all have done in bringing back and allowing us to share this hidden gem in the Ozarks.
PS: I certify this was written by a person who has experienced the joy of Arcadia Coves. This has not been written by any staff and I am not related to anyone who owns or works there. And shame on anyone who's desire is to imply these people are not honest in their dealings or are not trying to provide the best hospitality that you so rightfully deserve as a customer. FYI:It's best to show mercy when something is beyond a persons control.

Owners response: At first when Ms. Terry called when she said "I want to bring my mom" to celebrate her 91st birthday, we wondered if this was the right place, even going so far as trying to persuade Ms. Terry that she might want to consider the Hilton or a Nice Condo on the strip.

Ms. Terry and her guest were refreshing and even inspirational to the staff at Arcadia Coves. From her first call for a reservation, it was like talking to someone, we call "our friend".

To see the way Ms. Terry and her guest treated and respected our mountain, we knew the mountain would return to her once in a lifetime experiences and memories she would never forget. To hear her confirm those feelings before she left, reminded us all why we continue our efforts daily.

Disclosure: HPS Trail, museum, and fishing guides are here to assist on strictly a volunteer basis and donate their time and efforts to the Heritage Preservation Society which manages day to day operations at Arcadia Coves. Arcadia Coves and Heritage Preservation Society does not employ or staff, full time house keepers, front desk staff, janitors, or food and beverage personnel. Another words we (staff) are guest here too, and we have no problem sharing our fish with you........ but you just may have to cook it. :)

When guest come for a stay at Arcadia Coves they should be aware that we are an ECO friendly camp that focuses efforts on outdoor experiences, history, and education of the White River and Ozark Mountains, Guest should be willing to take on pride of ownership in their cabin, their surroundings, and their vacations from the first day of arrival.

Ms. Terry and her guest where like good 'ol' friends when they arrived, but quickly became "family" which included "mom" who was still celebrating her 91 birthday by the time they departed back to Kansas. We can't wait to see them all again.

From the start of your adventure to Arcadia Coves Its like renting a private home on the lake........ except you have 99 more acres of outdoor treasures to explore and enjoy, but if your accepted to stay, it's responsibility to help maintain and improve at the same time for you to continue to stay.

This is a private members only property and we ask that you treat it as if it were your own home. We do not have room service, you will most likely have wildlife outside your back door, and you might should know that massages and pedicures are located only a few miles down the lake at the Branson Landing. :)

We wasn't exactly sure what to expect because what they told us when we booked it was more like a campground with a few cabins and a old historical hunting and fishing lodge we could use and there were lots of flowers, wildlife, and great fishing in a secluded cove.
We normally take the motor home to Great Sams or C2C parks but this year the kids and grand kids were meeting us halfway, so we opted for more space. When we checked in at the bait shop/office we were greeted by Benjamin. He handed us our check in packet, informed us they had a storm over the weekend before that knocked out their telephone and satellites, he stated that he had called and that he had been waiting on the repairman (which I wasn't happy about) since Monday. He offered to upgrade us to a room in Branson if we was unhappy, uncertain what to do we saw the cabins and the views, so decided rough it. Benjamin showed us around property and from the very start the views were simply amazing!! He informed us of the history of the main lodge and how it was for use by the guest. Our family spent 3 out of 4 of our afternoon/evenings on the huge rap around deck of the old lodge, cooking hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill. I will remember one night especially because instead of my Fox News and then bed, me and my daughter, now in her 40's and a nurse, talked for hours on the deck about our memories of vacations and coming to Branson when she was around 10 or 11 years old. It was a great feeling when I saw my grand children running around the yard catching fire flies in a jar, just like my children had done the exact same thing nearly 30 years ago, down at the cabins at the old Sammy Lane Resort before it was tore down. During our stay we only went to one show, the Dixie Stampede, It was great, I love that show.

To give a fair and balanced report on the place with only the facts as were apparent to me and my family during our visit.
At time of reservation had to pay over the phone, the water was still a bit muddy to fish because of all the rain, the cable didn't work.
The cabin was clean and comfortable, Benjamin was great and was helpful, lots of space and places to roam and explore around the property, the views were amazing, The lodge was a plus and the food tasted better cooked over a real fire.
Lastly if your looking for new leather furnishings, loud sounds and shops around the corner this is not the place for you. But really great place to see stars!!
