Mountain View Seclusion is a beautiful waterfront home with two full levels offering views of Smith Mountain and the quiet cove yet with wireless internet on the dock. This secluded home offers five bedrooms and three baths (sleeps max of adults). The levels are connected by an external stairway to allow separation between two families vacationing together or allowing your teens a 'pad' of their own.

Enough space and privacy for everyone with an upstairs level of 3 bedrooms and 1 full bath and a downstairs level of 2 bedrooms and two full baths. Both levels offer full kitchen amenities and living areas. Also a private dock with deep, clear water for swimming and fishing in this no-wake cove.

Enjoy the most beautiful deep-green water on Smith Mountain Lake with an exceptional view of the mountain too! There is no steep hiking to get to the lake like most of the rentals homes! A gentle 200' slope with a lighted terraced walkway makes for easy access to the dock. Quiet neighborhood is great for kids and biking.

Not the Cleanest

Upon arriving at the lakehouse, we noticed the outside of the house was in dire need of paint, and the walkway to the dock was in bad condition with many of the walkway lights broken. The lakehouse was nice inside, but it hadn't been cleaned very well, as we noticed gobs of dog hair in the dining area under the table and bar area. The return vent for the a/c was also clogged with dog hair. I paid a pet deposit weeks before arriving, anticipating taking our dog, but she was killed by a car shortly after paying the deposit. After contacting the owner with the news, I was assurred by the owner that I would get the full pet deposit back. Needless to say I have not!

Owners response: This renter sent an email upon leaving our property raving about the home and what a wonderful time they had. She also stated they were looking forward to returning the following year and wrote in the guest book an equivalent entry. The day after the email was received, we were informed by the cleaning company that the renter had been smoking in the home and that the entire home reeked of cigarette smoke. As we enforce a strict no smoking on the premises policy (as per the webpage), the renter's security deposit was not returned due to the smoke damage and cleaning that had to be performed to attempt to rid the house of odor. Her full pet deposit was returned to her shortly after her stay.

There was evidence of 1 broken sidewalk late when the house was checked over after their stay.

We have received 4 specific compliments from other renters this summer alone at how clean our home was at their arrival. Most of our guests are yearly repeat renters which speaks for itself. It seems the complaints only came after having their deposit kept from damage to the home.
