Mountain Ridge Cottage is a comfortable, beautifully updated home nestled among the towering trees on a knoll near Pisgah National Forest. It is located just four miles from groceries/gas/restaurants in Etowah and conveniently near several key destinations: downtown Hendersonville (11 miles), downtown Brevard (14 miles), DuPont State Forest (12 miles), Asheville Regional Airport (14 miles), and downtown Asheville (25 miles). It is near several excellent golf courses, including Etowah Valley Country Club and Golf Resort which is rated by Golf Digest as one of the top 50 golf destinations in the US. Mountain Ridge Cottage has a stunning long-range mountain view of numerous scenic mountain peaks, including Mt. Pisgah, and the Blue Ridge Parkway.


With over an acre and a half of wooded privacy, our cottage gives you the feeling of being in a tree house surrounded by nature in all of its glory. Enjoy the secure feeling afforded by this small subdivision of nice homes with great neighbors; all homes are well separated from each other by one or more acres of forest. Sit on your deck and view the stars at night, or during the day look out over the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Seven Falls Golf and River Resort, Etowah and the French Broad River Valley. You will rest on the most comfortable beds you have ever experienced and wake to the serenity and delight of nature each day!

We have stayed at a lot of vacation rentals over the years, each one costing us more than this listing, and none of those were even close to being as fantastic as this. It is cottage chic, eclectic, and comfortable with wireless Internet for your laptop computer, new appliances, beautiful hardwood and porcelain tile flooring throughout, new large capacity washer and dryer in the downstairs laundry room, fully equipped kitchen and a Sony Bravia LCD wide screen TV. The beds are top of the line for sleeping comfort. It is a quality living space you will only find in rentals listed for double to triple this rate. Your cell phones will work here with no problem. It is only about one mile off the paved county road, and the gravel roads in between are well maintained all the way to our house.

Or you could go out for a short drive to enjoy shopping, dining, the theater, fine arts, local crafts, national and state parks, abundant waterfalls, scenic drives, historical attractions (like the Biltmore House and Carl Sandburg's home), tailgate markets with local fruits and vegetables, delicious bakeries (don't miss McFarlan's Bakery in Hendersonville!), a wide selection of golf courses, water sports such as rafting and tubing, and a wide variety of hiking trails. There is never a shortage of exciting activities to take of advantage of in this area. However, you may just want to sit back, relax, and enjoy the outstanding mountain view and the cozy quaintness of our cottage!
